James was in the common room thinking to himself about some uncomfortable truths. Well, it was actually one uncomfortable truth he wasn't ready to confront. There was a reason why he often put up a major front to distract from what he considered to be detrimental to other people's perception of him. It was better to be a reckless ladies' man than it was to be in the papers for loathing being a Potter or some shit related to how he isn't that much like his father.

On his lap was a notebook he utilized to write how he was feeling more poetically. The one thing about the start of the new term was the amount of first years that'd ask how it's like having the Boy Who Lived as a father. As he wrote hurriedly, his other hand tapped melodically on the table nearby. His posture wasn't the greatest. Hearing a door open, James paused what he was doing.

Alayna nodded in understanding, "If you change your mind you can find me. Just so you know." She said , placing a hand on his arm trying to be comforting. When he pulled out a few joints she smirked, "Awesome. Do you have a light? Or do you use your wand?" She had a muggle lighter Ethan had given her and taught her how to use.

Change his mind? Did she really think he would? 'I either use my wand or matches," he answered before pulling out a matchbox. James grabbed a match and struck it to light the two joints before blowing it out.

"Tryin' to not start a fire."

Alayna laughed and took one of the joints after he lit them. After taking a hit she thought on what she said before, "You know. When I said change your mind, I meant about talking about stuff. Getting shit off your mind and off your chest." She exhaled and felt her head rush, "Damn this is good."

"I know Aunt 'Mione wants me to go to her for that, but I don't wanna have her end up tellin' someone else in the family," James responded before taking a puff. Ah, this was relaxing. "Found a good dealer near Knockturn."

"I feel that. When Atticus told me, I swore to him I'd take it to the grave. And I did. He's the one that told Theodore. At a rather inconvenient time. It was our big Christmas fundraiser that he and mum do. Right in the middle of the Dinner Toast." She remembered it being quite hilarious, the look in Theodore's face, the appalled gasps if the guests. But she was ever the hype woman and just supported her brother. "You'll have to hook me up with him some time. Mack would love this shit."

'He announced it like that..?" James' face turned pale; he would be mortified if he were to do such a thing. Because he's totally a hetero bloke who loves tits. "Yeah, yeah, I'll have to see when he's able to drop by Hogsmeade one weekend and see if he's willin' to hook her up." He had to pay for his in a different manner than most. As long as it could be kept hidden, he was willing to do whatever.

"Just like that. Theo was furious. I was proud. He had been hiding it for a while and it felt good to see him be honest with himself more than honest with anyone else." She said with a soft smile. She missed her brother. "Well make sure he knows money is no issue with our group." It was true. Alayna could probably buy his whole supply at once. Mackenzie could probably afford to buy the guy all together.

Nodding, James took another puff of the joint feeling as if he was about to melt into the couch. Ahhh! He should've just done this to begin with. "Yeah, yeah, I'll make sure." He wasn't going to open another can of worms he has been doing his damnedest to ignore. "Is it just me or have the prefects gotten more annoyin' this term?"

"Oh my god. Thank you. Yes. Like I adore Carina. She's my girl. But when she made perfect she started enforcing rules and such. Normally I would bring half this joint to her but she'd report me for it now! And Louis Weasley, he's alright I guess. He's a sweet kid. But I seriously wanna punch Phiera in the face half the time." She said taking another hit, "I'm glad I'm not a perfect. I don't need people shit talking me behind my back."

"Chang's out to get me, I think. Bloke dunno how to take a joke!" James thought back to the recent bathroom incident. And the one before that. There was also the quidditch changing room incident. He couldn't help that sinks and showers were some of the best locations to start a prank! "I couldn't handle the responsibility."

"Lien?" Was that the Chang he was referring to, "He's sweet to me. But I think he just has a crush." She said with a shrug, "I don't think Chang could write me up if he wanted to. He'd probably panic and end up apologizing and awarding me house points " she said checking her nails. She noticed a chip in her paint and frowned, "Gotta get a touch up soon."

"I keep sayin' these prefects need to shag. Maybe they'd be less officious," James reiterated watching the smoke from his joint rise higher. "Can't ye just use magic to fix that?"

"Well. Depending on how things go I might be able to get Chang off your back for a bit." She noticed her joint was reaching the end so she took a few more hits, "Yes. I can. But it's more fun when I go get them done or do it on a girls night." She liked the comfort of getting her nails done. It was a calming technique for her.

Intrigued, one of his eyebrows rose. "I suppose by flirting with him only to later discard him? He's a git and if getting laid removed the rod up his arse...." James was going to need all the help he can get at this point. Who knew how much longer he'd be able to indulge in Faye's schoolgirl fantasies after all.
