The poisonous vine that had once affected Hogwarts students and Hogsmeade dwellers by its bite was still a great mystery to the wizarding world. Although many had endeavoured to uncover the secrets of the vine, none were truly successful in revealing its true potential. The vine had grown, bitten, and withered away just as soon as it came; so most researchers had abandoned their study of it and moved onto other priorities.

It's likely that these researchers were looking in all the wrong places. One man who persisted in his study finally discovered what it was: that it was a specimen not of this world, and he could use it in ways nobody had ever thought of. Cambyses Dracul, alongside those who serve his cause, were the ones who uncovered the vine's demonic properties, and believed it could be used as a tool for what they wanted to accomplish.

The first step to their plan starts here, at Azkaban Fortress. Cambyses sought to release all the prison inmates, namely those who were sentenced Death Eaters and took part in the Hogsmeade battle last Spring. As a top-security prison guarded by specialist trained wizards, smuggling the vine inside was risky. But with the combined effort of inside help and Cambyses's careful schemes, the smuggle was successful.

Now with the prison guards bitten and acting out of character, chaos ensued inside of the prison. The guards who were infected with the vine's poison forgot their duties, the guards who weren't infected sought to calm them. In the riot that broke out, prisoners started escaping their confinement: wands were re-distributed, and the newly armed Death Eaters broke out.

We now arrive to the present. Freedom is on the horizon for the sentenced criminals. Your character has now retrieved their wand, and is fighting back to escape once and for all.
