Bless the Broken Road (Carina)

Draco was overjoyed that Carina was not dead after all, he just hoped that she would spend more time resting than going about town. He was in his study as he was looking at some photos of his beautiful late wife, he was rather distracted and did not hear anyone enter. His mind was else where as he remembered the good times that he had with her and the wish for more. He had hoped that she would wake up but that never happened, at least his daughter was saved from the curse.

Carina poked her head into her father's study and smiled when she saw him looking at pictures of her mother, "You miss her?" She asked as she stepped inside, "Is it bad that I feel guilty that I survived and she didnt?" She asked feeling the tears start to threaten to fall.

Draco turned when he heard Carina, and motioned her to come in once she was in he pulled her onto his lap like he used to when she was a little girl. [b]"Don't be, I am happy that you survived, your mother just had too many chances with death everyone of her pregnancies was a risk but we were glad to have another little one around, yes I want another day with her but I also would not change anything," he told her as he stroked her hair gently he was just glad that he still had her.

Carina scurried over to her father and rested her head on his shoulder. As her father spoke, she could feel the tears falling down her face, "But if she knew it was dangerous why did she do it?" She would never understand why her mother would shorten her life span intentionally. She sniffled and wiped her tears
