a new family (invite)

The last nine months had passed by in a flash, and now everything was far too real.

Leonides Belvedere was going to be a Dad.

It was the night of May 27th, Sadie had gone into labour. It had been expected, as it was near enough her due date, but Leo still felt unprepared. He was in an isolated room at St Mungo's hospital, currently standing beside Sadie and the Healers doing... whatever they were doing.

He felt frustrated with all the waiting around. Pacing wasn't helping. Nothing was helping. How long did this last, anyway? Why was it taking so damn long?

One of the healers asked: do you need anything? Leo (thinking that she was asking him and not the other healers) replied: "Can I get a sandwich or somethin'?" He was hungry.

It was go time, and Sadie was in pain.

She didn't think being in labor would be so much pain, and when they arrived at St. Mungos. She had got taken to her room, and she looked at Leo. Why the fuck did he have to get an sandwich, "Leonides! You don't need a fucking sandwich. If anyone needs food it is me." she shouted at her boyfriend. Some days she didn't get how he worked, and when the healers took them to the room.

The girl changed into an hospital robe and she was told to lay down. Hoping that Leonides would stop with the sandwich and be by her side. All she wanted was that and she cursed, when another constraction hit and she shouted. "Fuck! Leo, I fucking hate you." hoping he'd hear.

While the contractions hit she just waited for the healers to give her whatever they had to give her. Hoping that it wouldn't be much longer until the baby came.

He didn't want to see all the... disgusting stuff. Ooze, fluids, whatever it was. But, seeing as he was the Dad and Sadie and all the healers were expecting him to stick around, he hovered about like an awkward guest at a party that didn't know anyone.

He was convinced that she really did hate him, but at the same time it was kind of cute that she was being so aggressive. Apparently, this was fairly normal behaviour for a woman in labour, because the healers seemed to continue normally.

"Yeah, I know. You're doin' well, Sade." He encouraged, albeit half-heartedly. He didn't really know what constituted as doing well in this situation. Nonetheless, it seemed the right shit to say.
