dinner is served (riddles & invite)

He must have been out of his damn mind.

Standing outside this Manor that definitely looked like the walls would eat him alive, about to meet up with Mackenzie Riddle the daughter of Professor Riddle - now Headmaster - and he was wearing grey dress trousers and a starched collar shirt? This house was probably close to the one his Mum grew up in. The Riddles may not have been purebloods, but they were closely entwined with that community.

He wanted to run, but then he remembered who he was and that he definitely didn't run from anything.

Even this.

So he knocked on the door and used the glass pane inside of it to check over his hair.

Medea was in her room fixing up her braids with only one of her longer skirts, just above the knees, and a bra on. She didn't know what she wanted to wear yet! With so many cute options between her and Mats' wardrobe, it was so hard to choose!

"Maaaaats, do you know where the ripped red stocking with the heart fishnets went?!"

She was going to tease Mackenzie by wearing a heart-filled ensemble; with her younger sister falling for a McLaggen, there's no way she could follow in their dad's footsteps! The leader role had to be hers for the taking.

Mackenzie had just finished putting on her dark red lipstick and giving her hair one last primp when she heard a knock on the door. She looked in the mirror at the tight red dress she had on and eyed the slit going up her thigh. She did the fasten on her black stilletos and made her way down the stairs just as the house elf opened the door and she smiled when she saw Tiernan in the door way, "Hello tiernan. I see you had no trouble finding the house. It's hard to find sometimes."

"Is that the ripped red stocking with the heart fishnets that I made Mr X wear, or is it the ripped red stocking with the heart fishnets that I wore for Mr W, and he got gravy all over it?"

She yelled this back at her whilst pulling a white tube skirt to her waist. Dinner formalities to her meant she definitely couldn't have her bum cheeks on show, so this skirt covered them. Just. Nice sheer blouse and all was well.

"Both of them have been washed, but I don't know where they are! Who is at the doooooor?!"

"I don't know! Bring me both and I'll figure out which one!"

Now she had to figure out a shirt to wear as there was no way she could get away with wearing just a bra. It wasn't one of her fancier floral bralette tops. She ran over to her closet and slid one of the doors open.

"Somebody's at the door? It must be Kenzie's new boytoy!" Medea giggled. "And it's our job to embarrass her like good big sissies! We should find one of the family photo albums to show him!"

Meredith was sitting on the couch wearing a dark blue coctail dress and a pair of silver heels. She had a glass of wine in her hand that she hahad started sipping on. She eyed her sister as she came down the stairs and raised an eyebrow, "Very nice, Mackenzie."

When the door opened, he quickly stopped checking over himself (vainly), and stood a little straighter.

A pretty girl with long, soft brown hair answered the door. She looked quite vampish in a deep red dress that showed a slice of her creamy thighs, the shape of which was emphasised by sky-high heels. The Riddles didn't have a daughter with dark hair though, did they?

In his ogling of her, he realised: it was Mackenzie. He shut his jaw promptly, which had been hanging open.

"I almost didn't recognise you," he admitted, trying to play it cool. "You almost look mature."

Winking at her, he glanced past her to the interior.

"This place is huge. It's like a bloody castle. Do you have a tower all to yourself or something?"

He grinned.

Matilda giggled gleefully.

"Oooh, is he all buffed up and gorgeous?!"

She wanted to see!

Then again, she did say that she was going to let Mackenzie have him all to herself...

"We can get the ones where she's naked!"

"Ooooh, yes! What about the ones where she has dirt all over her?" Medea giggled, thinking of all of the embarrassing photos that could be used as blackmail. "Where are the photo albums? Let's ask daddy!"

Mackenzie smirked when she saw Tiernans jaw hanging open. She pushed a strand of hair from her face and rolled her eyes, "Oh my god. Shut up." She said giving his arm a slight playful shive, "You look good too. The elves should have drinks out soon." She was nervous for some reason but she tried not to let it show.

"Elves...?"

As he stepped into the Manor, he couldn't help feeling strange about it. It was very... look at us and our money. Of course they would have bloody elves, he thought.

Still, he was mostly concentrating on her praises. It caused him to square his shoulders slightly, make them more pronounced. "So why the hair change?" he asked, in all seriousness. "Worried I might confuse you for one of your sisters?" he joked, but was looking at the curve in her waist. She really did look mature. Like her Mum.

"Of course elves. Did you expect us to not have house elves? She asked, giving him a quizzical look. She pushed some more hair from her face, "I like to stand out every now and then. So I do something different with my hair. I've done pink, red, black, now brown. But im a natural blonde. She noticed his line of gaze and smiled, "Do you see something you like?"

"What?" he said stupidly, somewhat listening.

Perhaps he just needed something to eat. He was starving. He hoped they didn't have silly little portions like they had in muggle and fancy restaurants sometimes...

"Yeah. You look older. In a good way."

He looked further in.

"So, where is everyone?"

Mackenzie shook her head and laughed a bit, "You're absolutely adorable." She reached out snd stroked his hair back a bit, "You're hair is so soft." She said, looking at him with a sultry look, ""I think Daddy is out on the back deck with my mother having glass of wine. Meredith is in the lounge and Medea and Matilda are still getting ready. I think Gabby is on the crystal with Ethan."

Adorable. He was adorable?!

Merlin...

He would have preferred to be handsome, or strapping, or gorgeous - something along those lines. Adorable was definitely what you called a puppy called Biscuit. He wasn't a puppy called Biscuit.

Her hands felt nice, and she was giving him this look like he was the main course. Very nice.

"How are you going to entertain me then?" he asked, pretending to yawn.

Mackenzie smirked and leaned closer to him, "I could think of many ways I could entertain you. But the most appropriate of those would be showing you around the grounds." She said, taking his hand in hers, "The gardens have a nice secluded river I spend a lot of time at." It was very private and even borderline romantic.

After having some time alone with his wife to mercilessly flirt with her while his children were elsewhere, Lochlan decided it was time to check on his children and see if they were ready for dinner. Apparently there would be visitors tonight, which he didn't mind, but he and Katherine were so engrossed with each other that he hadn't thought to ask who these people were.

Holding his empty wine glass, he came into the manor and moved through its halls.

After depositing his glass to an eager elf, he smiled and came to the main hallway. The stunning brunette clad in the red dress was his own youngest daughter! His smile broadened as he gazed lovingly at the back of her, where she was leaning into a boy around her own age...

His smile dropped. His mouth tightened.

McLaggen?!

She was draping herself over that pumped-up, self-loving, big-headed clown?!

"Mackenzie," he said gently, from behind. "A word, please."

"Not a tower then, you just have your own Quidditch pitch and private river," he said, teasing her. "Does that come with its own personal elf service as well?"

He liked that she was leaning into him, flirting with him, admiring him. It was something he could get used to very quickly, but there had been other girls who did more or less the same. Those just weren't wearing expensive dresses.

Just as he opened his mouth to say something else, he saw Professor Riddle from behind her. This was weird. Seeing a teacher outside of school was freaky, although he supposed he should talk to him the same way he did at school? "Hi, sir," he said, with a bit of a smile. Riddle didn't look pleased to see him...

Mackenzie jumped a bit at the sound of her fathers voice, "Hi Daddy. You know Tiernan." When Lochlan said he eanted to talk to her, she gave Tiernans hand a light squeeze, "Ill ust be a moment." She walked to her father and looked up at him, "Is everything ok, daddy?"

Nodding stiffly at the boy, he took Mackenzie by her shoulder and steered her, gently, into the empty dining room. The places were set up for dinner: silver sparkling, glasses gleaming. Lochlan turned to face her.

"Is this a scheme to break his heart, or are you out of your mind?" he asked her, soberly and calmly, but with a menacing light behind his eyes. "McLaggen isn't the sort of pig I'd like to look at whilst eating."

Pork was okay, pig-headed boys were not.

"Hi McLaggen..."

Pressing her bosom over the railings of the stairs, she smirked down at him.

"Have you upset my Dad?" she asked tauntingly.

"Your Mother hasn't had the displeasure of knowing his character for the past six years," he countered, not believing what he was hearing.

That was it, she had completely lost her mind.

"McLaggen is nothing but an incessant show-off. There is nothing likeable about him. There is no possible use he could have, other than the fact he is empty-headed and could probably be put under the Imperius Curse without a fight."

He leaned closer to her.

"If you can cry for him then cry for me. I'm having to look at his face for an hour tonight."

Katherine so loved the summers when her husband was home with her. She chose to enjoy every moment of it that she could which is why she had been soaking up all of the attention her husband could lavish her with while they waited for dinner to be served and their guests to arrive. She had elected to stay outside and finish her glass of wine when her husband had gone inside to check on their children though. They would be fine without her for a few moments.

When she had finished her glass of wine she had sent the empty glass away with one of the elves then made her way inside, her impossibly high heels tapping softly on the hardwood floors as she made her way to the entryway where she heard Matilda calling out to someone. A smile came to her lips as she spotted Tiernan there speaking with Matilda. She approached him and kissed the air at both of his cheeks in greeting. "Tiernan, I'm so glad you could make it." She asked one of the elves then if they had seen her husband and the elf pointed her into the empty dining room. "Matilda, darling, could you come down and entertain our guest until Mackenzie or I get back?" She asked before excusing herself.

She walked into the dining room then to see the tear rolling down her daughter's cheek. She hurried to her side and pulled her daughter into her arms, always the loving mother. "What is wrong, my love?" She gave her husband a questioning glance. "Did that boy do something to upset you?" There was a threat in her voice. She may be a proper lady but she would protect her children.

It was like one dish after another for him. One left in a clack of heels, another was squeezing her breasts against a handrail, and another was air-kissing over him with a cheeky little smile. Well, that's what he perceived it as: they were all over him, because he was brilliant.

"Thanks again for the invite, Mrs R."

He watched her figure wriggle into the dining room. Then another was setting her claws into his shoulder, appearing from nowhere.

"Hi Matilda..."
