The Rowle Wedding (tagged, invite)

On the rolling grounds of the Rowle estate, a large marquee had been assembled to contain the wedding ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the reception. While the exterior had been decorated with elaborate garlands, water features and ribbon bunting, the interior was where everything came alive: large flower displays that touched the top of the canopy, ice sculptures, reupholstered seating, centre pieces, chandeliers; it was very clear that this couple was rich and they had no modesty about it.

The guests were already arriving for the ceremony, welcomed in with a live band playing tasteful, classical music. Ptolemy greeted each and every guest as they came through, shook hands, excelled in his pleasantries, smiled so much that his cheeks hurt. In just under an hour's time, Alayna and her bridesmaids would be ready. They were all currently inside the house doing finishing touches, he assumed. Ptolemy hadn't seen her since the night before.

"So lovely to see you, Mrs Selwyn. Mr Selwyn - a pleasure..."

As he gushed and fawned over the guests, his best man stood very stiffly next to him, murmuring at best. When Mr and Mrs Selwyn had passed through and there was a gap in the arrivals, Ptolemy turned to him in annoyance: "You could at least try to be less like a board, Burke," he hissed at him, out of the corner of his mouth. "People will think they're coming to a bloody funeral."

Alayna nodded and took another look in the mirror then turned to carina, "Rina, could you go find my brother please? I need a twin minute." Her mother was great at comforting her, but she really wanted her brother in that moment. She figured her guests would start getting antsy soon. She just needed one more moment.

Carina nodded and grabgrabbed one of the glasses of red elf made wine Alayna had for her bridesmaids. She made her way to where everyone was waiting and looked around for Atticus. However, her eyes narrowed in on a flash of white and her eyebrows furrowed. Oh hell no. She walked over to the group of her classmates, "Hi everyone. Thanks so much for coming. Alayna will be ready soon. Has anyone seeseen Atticus?" She then 'Acccidentally' spilled wine down the front of jeneva dress, "Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. That's elven wine too. Next to impossible to get out. I'm sure we have something in a more appropriate color for this type of event for you somewhere in the manor. If you go find one of the elves, I'm sure they can help you. Now, if you'll excuse me." She said as she continued to look for Atticus.

Scorpius stood off to the sides for the most part. He was here for his cousin and his sister. Otherwise, he didn't do weddings and big events like this. This was more Carinas vibe than his own. He watched as his sister poured wine down Jeneva Avery and laughed a bit. Classic Carina, always looking out for Alayna. He looked around and saw Cece and frowned. He wished he could have brought Rose with him, but he didn't want to aggravate Alayna by bringing an univited Weasley to her wedding.

"Unless any of you have a hidden platter of cheese pasteries in your clothing, I couldn't care less about anything else," he admitted exasperatedly, getting fed up with being challenged by Melanthius over something inconsequential.

Carina Malfoy looked nice, he thought, watching her strut in wearing the bridesmaid gown.

"Oops," was the only thing he could say as her wine ended up everywhere. Was she drunk already? How funny.

He'd spotted her frisking through the other guests.

"Looking lovely by the way! Did you say you were looking for me?"

Cece rolled her eyes at her brother, "Oh right. Of course. I forgot, it was your twin brother that opened his big fat mouth to mother. Oh wait...." She then smiled at ptolemy."Congratulations Tolly. Everything looks lovely." She looked around and her eyes fell onto Scorpius. She then looked at her brother eith a mischievous smile and then back at scorpius.

Carina premed up when she heard atticus voice, "There you are. Yes I was. Your sister requires a twin moment. And thank you, the purple does wonders." She smiled at him and pushed her hahair back, "As for Avery... She had a little accident. I think we need to find her something else to wear. Dont you agree?"

Seeing Avery's dress end up stained in wine, Thius snorted. That was certainly what she deserved for being so idiotic to wear that at Nott's wedding. However, he was hoping that it would result in a catfight instead of something so anticlimactic.

He smiled over at Bellona, admiring his girlfriend and what she was wearing once more. That dress flattered her wondrous curves so well... The circuits of his brain were frying as his eyes lingered.

"Uhm - I don't... know..."

How did she get what looked like elven wine splashed all over here anyway?

"Perhaps Ptolemy can help you out," he responded vaguely.

For now that it was Alayna's big moment, he hadn't the time to worry about trying to do a cleaning spell or finding new clothes. Smiling at Carina, he gladly passed her and made his way out of the marquee and inside of the house.

"Everyone should be taking their seats soon," he relayed to Hector, frowning as Atticus passed him. He checked his watch. "I'll give it five or ten more minutes. Hopefully he's going to the toilet..."

Carina nodded at attixus and made her way over to ptolemy and Hector, "Hello boys. You both look very handsome. Alayna is almost ready. She needed a minute with her brother." She smiled at them both and looked around the marquee, "Alaynas gonna love it."

"That was my DRESS!" Jeneva was pissed! Malfoy was so envious of her jaw-dropping good looks and svelte figure, no wonder why she tried to sabotage her looks! "I still look better than you, bitch!"

Ugh! Pulling her rose compact back out, Jeneva began to meticulously examine her makeup again.

Her daughter was ever so stubborn, similarly to how she was, and Millicent wished Cecelia was using that productively. Instead, she was using that trait to spite her entire family, and that was annoying. As they were at a wedding, she couldn't do much to emphasize the consequences with the rest of high pureblood society there.

Millicent checked the time and promptly took her seat, expecting the rest of her family, excluding Hector, to join her momentarily.

In the house he wasn't entirely sure where he was going, having only been there a few times. He just went upstairs to the first floor, walked down the hallway, and hoped there would be some voices to follow. There was. He recognised his Mother's voice, perhaps Alayna's too, and that very proud woman that thought her son, Ptolemy, was some kind of gift to mankind. Eagerly he made way through the rest of the hallway and arrived at the room.

Once inside, he smiled around at everyone. Perhaps it was better that his first view of Alayna in her wedding dress was now, because half-way down the aisile she would have been looking at this:

He immediately gasped into floods of tears. His hand was over his mouth and the emotion overwhelmed him. Seeing her son, Daphne was also in floods of tears... again. He stood there gasping for breath, clutching both his hands over his mouth now.

This was it. Alayna was getting married. She was moving away from him. His beautiful sister, Alayna!

When Carina came up to them, Ptolemy broke into a bright smile as his eyes swept the length of her. That dress was wonderful on her, just as it had been on Perdita--

His face fell.

His hair roots switched back promptly from a flash of gold that had momentarily appeared.

"You're not supposed to be out here until you're coming down the aisile, Carina," he told her, although his tone was quite gentle and carefree. "You look beautiful." He smiled slightly, trying to push Perdita right, right back into the recesses of his head. This was his wedding. Not Perdita's. She didn't have anything to do with it. Or him.

"Thank you, Andrea. You're very welcome here - I hope you have a marvelous time."

He tried to focus on her more than Carina, as seeing that dress was distracting him.

"Carina," he said, smiling at her. Was she supposed to be down here? Oh well, Ptolemy was taking care of it...

Then Andrea stood before them, looking very pretty and as lovely as she ever did. He was glad that she could come: although it may have been slightly awkward, he always liked having that connection there. Did she just put on a smile, but secretly hate him? Did she curse at him as soon as his back was turned?

Well, he deserved it...

"Hello Andrea - you look utterly ravishing yourself, dear." Too much flattery? Not enough? Should he have just stuck with 'pretty'. There was sometimes a very thin line between being a gentleman and being a cad nowadays.

Astrid had just finished having the finishing touches put on her hair and makeup as she saw Atticus come in. She wasn’t expecting the show of waterworks but who was she to judge him? She was sure she would be emotional when her own twin was married as well. She sipped at a drink that had been provided for them as she kind of hung back, not wanting to disturb the family dynamic before realizing that Carina hadn’t returned. ”Im going to go and make sure Carina is alright.” she said, really she just wanted to get out of the emotional mess that the room had turned into. She walked out and spotted Carina very quickly as she was speaking with Ptolemy and Hector. She smiled and walked over to the small group. ”you could have at least warned me I might be drowned in a flood of tears in there, Carina.” she whispered to her friend before looking to Hector, Ptolemy, and the girl she hadn’t properly met before and giving them a polite smile.

"Y-y-you're so b-beautiful!" he wailed, and no one saw Mrs Rowle rolling her eyes at the window.

Going up to her, he flung his arms around her, and sobbed onto her shoulder nosily and wetly for a while, before drawing away with his lip quivering.

"S-sorry have I ruined anything? Alayna you're just like a Princess! I love you so muuuuch..."

Another round of tears, and he didn't realise the other women sharing their space were backing away slowly.

Rubbing her son's back, she looked over his shoulder tearfully at Alayna.

"I'll go and find Draco," she said, smiling shakingly as she hurried out of the room, no longer being able to take all the emotion.
