dystopia (mackenzie)

When he came to, all he saw was darkness. Some kind of cloth was pressed against his eyes, and he was bound in transfigured ropes.

What was the last thing he remembered?

He had finished work for the day, it having been a fairly busy one. There was a patisserie nearby St Mungo's in one of the alleyways in muggle London, and he intended to get something for Carina there on his way home. They were married and had their five-month-year-old son, and he was making a slow transition to solids. He couldn't wait until he could get a cake for him as well. Daddy's treat. But... had he even made the purchase there? Had he even made it through the doors?

There was only one thing for it. Whoever had captured him must be close by, so he had to stay cool and try to reason with them. "Hello?" He said, hoarsely, not knowing if he would get any response.

Carina quickly left with Alexander after being told to do so by Louis. She apparated them home where they were safe. Mackenzie looked up and saw that Louis was still there. She was confused as to why he referred to her as the child's aunt. Especially after everything that just happened. She sighed "Louis just go." She said her voice cracking as tears were filing her eyes

”It’s okay.” He said, ”I’ll leave you alone if that is what you want, but I know there is still good in you. I know this isn’t what you really want. You didn’t really want to hurt Carina, or me, or Alexander. I want you to know that I’ll always be around for you. You could stop this, you could come and work with me. I know you could.”

Mackenzie hesitated before speaking "I think... I think I want that. But do you mean it?" She asked kind of scared to trust him fully, but she had to try "I want to get my life back together." Mackenzie said more tears falling "I feel horrible. Louis... I'm so so sorry"

Louis smiled. At last, she was really coming around. He put his arm about her shoulder as a sign of friendly comfort. "Of course I mean it," He told her, and he did. Louis believed in second chances, and maybe other people didn't. But he was willing to try and make those people understand.

"You can, Mackenzie. Here," He found a tissue inside of his pocket and offered it to her. Then he lowered his voice. "Just apparate with me now. Together. Leave that man and all this behind..."

Mackenzie looked up at Louis "I can't... I can't just leave. He fixed me. After Albus... He fixed me. I love him" she said looking at the door to the room that she knew he was in "Louis just go. Before he doesn't let me let you leave. Go to Carina. And Alexander. Please Louis" she said hugging him and kissing his cheek " go"

"Mackenzie..." He tried one last time to desperately reach out to her, by saying her name. He realised, with a pang of sadness, that he couldn't do much more.

Mackenzie felt tears fall down her face and she quickly wiped them away "please. Just... Tell Rina I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry" she said before thinking for a moment. She took his hand and nodded "go. I'm right behind you. I just have to handle something"

Louis nodded. He apparated out of the area, believing Mackenzie's word that she would follow him. He needed to show that trust he had. That he was willing to give her a second chance, because he knew that she was a good person.
