James was very grateful to be able to move anywhere outside of that blasted gymnasium now that the dreaded lock-in was no more; the only redeeming factor of that night was being able to hang out with Lien and getting to know just a tiny bit of his family. On the other hand, he was constantly on edge for one of the Notts, mainly Alayna, to get back at him at any moment. He was in the fourth floor bathroom, still very much unfazed by the toilet clogger's stench, contemplating doing a rerun of that prank he pulled at the start of term. It'd be more fun if Lien got involved in it... He found himself thinking about Lien more and more, yet he struggled putting his thoughts and feelings into song as there was so much he could say...

Why was he in here again? Oh right. He was going to have a little smoke after all those hours separated from his cigarettes.

Then he felt something slithering up his leg. Sighing, James lifted his leg onto the sink. "Magnus, is that you?" He had been avoiding the haunted bathroom to try and prevent any drug-related temptations, so he had to settle with this bathroom.

He pulled out his crystal and sent Mackenzie a message telling her to retrieve her snake before somebody in the school could attempt to stomp on it. Talking to Magnus every so often was making him desire a snake of his own.

Mackenzie was in the library when she heard her crystal go off. She rolled her eyes and closed the book she had been reading. Magnus needed to start acting better and choosing who he talks to with a bit more class. She made her way to the bathrooms James was in and sighed, "Why is he so obsessed with you?" She didn't understand. Magnus didn't like many people. Of course, he wouldnt attack without her say so. But he never went out of his way to be with one person besides herself. She walked over to the sink and picked up Magnus, "What are you doing in here?"

"I got no bloody clue," James answered as he brushed off his trouser leg and got it down from the sink. "Do you not keep him in a cage or anything? Or is he too smart to be contained?"

How many group messages had he received about Magnus venturing through the castle over the past few weeks? At least 5?

"Both. It's cruel to keep a creature locked in a cage. And second, he is very intelligent. He will get free if he's determined to do so." She stroked Magnus' scales, "But as I've stated before and you've seen on numerous occasions, he will not attack unless he is either provoked or given a command to do so by me."

Hm, maybe a snake would be his kind of pet then. It'd be cool to have a pet that he could not only talk to, but one he could travel and take on holidays with. Plus it would mean Lien wouldn't have to constantly conjure a snake whenever they ravaged through the Restricted Section. "Did you get him at the Menagerie or whatever? Sorta thinking of getting one for myself when we're on holiday..."

James looked at Magnus thoughtfully before glancing at Mackenzie.

"Have you ever tried going through Salazar Slytherin's writings in the Restricted Section?"
