Better Off Dead (Tabby)

Emery still felt numb from this entire thing as she never felt so sick. The entire time she was home the Gryffindor was sick to her stomach and she couldn’t get Faolan out of her mind, because she hadn’t heard anything and his name wasn’t on the list. This made her worry but the only light was Deimos was gone.

She didn’t have to worry about him being a father not like she intended for him to be the father, because she had no interest in joining his whore house. Sure she was able to get close to her mother, but she wasn’t sure how to tell her once the news about Hazel. She called for her mother, “Hey mom! Can you come here for a second?” she sighed.

Tabitha had just gotten out of the shower in a towel and robe when she had begun ruminating on the past two weeks; she didn't expect her strong call for justice for her daughter would lead to all of that. Since all of them had received karma in some way, she decided she was going to call it off and apologize for her lack of thought before making it official as she didn't think it would cause such a domino effect. She was also going to send condolences to families of the victims non-DE affiliated. There we go. Now she had some damage control. Her thought process was broken when she heard Emerald call for her. Quickly, she cleaned out her ears with some cotton swabs before she went to her. Tabitha didn't even bother to make herself more presentable first.

"What is it, sweetie?"

This had allowed her to bond with one of her younger daughters, and Tabitha was grateful for that. It really helped her understand where she could have gone wrong since Jedidiah had faked his death.

Emery wasn’t sure if she was ready to tell her mother and she saw her. “I have something to tell you.” she sighed. Not like it shouldn’t shock her and she sighed, “You know Deimos Lestrange is dead right?” she asked. This was freaking her out.

She shook her head. "I haven't read the papers yet. I've been trying to keep my mind off of it." Tabitha could hardly bring herself to discuss the battle.

Emerald couldn’t say the same as she had been worried sick about Faolan. “Well he’s is dead but no word on Faolan.” she said trying to hide back her pain. “Since Deimos is dead I should probably tell you that he was the baby’s biological father, and he was a horrible guy.” she said hoping her mother could just keep quiet about the entire thing. “And as far as I’m concerned though Faolan will be our kid’s father and will take the Finnigan name.” she said setting the paper down.

"Oh, okay."

She really didn't know how to respond.

"Is there already a search party out there for Faolan?"

That’s all her mother had to say and Emerald shook her head. She really didn’t buy this but she was glad she was listening. “You aren’t going to scold me for lying?” she asked a little bit taken a bit. “Even if I only did it because of who he was. Plus that’s all that Riddle need to learn that the baby was Deimos’s” she said with a sigh.

When she was asked about the search party for Faolan, “How am I supposed to know? It’s not like we had the chance to tell his parents, so I can be kept in the loop.” she said as she sat on her bed and sighed. “What the fuck am I doing?” Said Emerald.
