calming the situation (camille)

Lochlan stood with the Headmistress, also looking out to the students in bewilderment. Even he had no inkling as to what plagued their brains, and it seemed as though it was some kind of dark magic. The only things he could think of comparatively were Norse Artefacts. It seemed as though not all of the students were affected: seemingly, his own daughters were safe. Or so he thought.

"First, we need to proceed with caution, Headmistress." He said, sounding quite serious. "While I struggle to believe that any of them are in any particular danger, we need to first focus on the students who seem to be affected. I believe we should approach them with understanding, and with reason..."

It was a long shot. He didn't know if he was just talking a lot of words at that point.

She shook her head in agreement almost tearing up at what was happening. "But what if they won't listen to reason?" Camille was almost in hysterics with how quickly everything had erupted.

"We need to figure out the source first! We can't do anything without an origin!"

@Lochlan Riddle

"Calm down, Camille." He said gently, his tone well at ease to reassure her. It was rare that he referred to her by first name, so he had hoped the impact of this would provide some substance to his integrity.

As he watched the students, his lips pursed slightly. If it wasn't a curse from an artefact, it could be from something else. What did all these students share in common, in particular? They were all different houses - different creeds - different genders. There was no trend there.

"These students could well have been poisoned from one particular dish served this evening," He reasoned, stroking his goatee. "But this is no poison I know. No, I believe this is a curse of some kind. Albeit a rather frivolous one..." He looked back at her. "What else? What else would they have in common?"

"Could they have all gone to a certain part of the castle? Maybe a mishap in class?!" Camille was trying to think of every hypothetical situation to the best of her ability. "We need to look at the rosters!"

@Lochlan Riddle

"Wait."

He held out his arm in front of her, to prevent any rushing off to acquire rosters.

"There was that incident a few days ago..."

Aha! The herbology students in the hospital wing, getting checked over. He took back his arm. The herbology professor was absent from the hall.

"That could well be it."

Her jaw dropped hearing the revelations.

"We need to corner off the grounds immediately and have them investigated! Make sure no student gets out of the castle!"

@Lochlan Riddle

Lochlan nodded. "Yes, Headmistress."

He then swept away in the direction of the entrance hall and transfigured two sets of armour.

"Guard the doors on my exit." The suits nodded, and took to their positions after Lochlan took to the grounds. It was only then that he cracked a smile. Well, wasn't this one for the books?

Camille moved away to look into contacting the Ministry for assistance; they had more tools than Hogwarts and, if possible, they could apprehend whoever was behind this.

She knew it was currently impossible to get the roused students to calm down, so she would have to wait for the situation to settle down on its own. Hogwarts suffered worse destruction after all.
