James entered his and Blanche's go-to compartment on the train setting his guitar case under his side of the compartment. "Don't ask how I managed to get that in here without dad noticing," he said with a laugh as he took a seat.

"We must catch up."

She was about to open her mouth, but was cut short. So he wanted it to be a mystery. She smiled knowingly at him: she wasn't going to pursue the subject, but it was impressive nonetheless. Blanche didn't take her keyboard to Hogwarts, but she played on the grand piano of the music room, usually. That was enough.

"Yeah! So! I met someone last weekend..." She began, also mysteriously. It was fun to be mysterious for no reason.

"Do tell," James responded raising an eyebrow. "I should've smuggled some crisps..."

"Well maybe you can tell me who it was, Bucktooth."

She giggled loudly.

Hugo?! He was completely unable to contain any laughter. "That kid... I never got the beaver thing when he looks like a-"

Suddenly, he heard a cart roll by. "Didn't know the candy lady was making her rounds already!"

Azazel bit his lip as he entered the train and began looking for a compartment, he had no idea why his master insisted that he travel this way but he guessed it probably was better than going by floo. He opened the door of one only to hear James' voice. Running his hand through his hair he pushed it open even more. "Mind if I join?" He asked as he looked at James and the girl, he really did not know how to act as it was basically just him and his master and if there was any visitors either he was in his room or he was serving them quietly.

"Unlikely, Jamesy. It's probably just a luggage trolley?"

Then, just as she said that, the door of their compartment opened and Blanche was looking at a gangly boy with a long, pale face and long, raven hair. He was sallow and haunted-looking. Blanche thought he looked pretty cool, actually. Different - she liked it.

"Of course you can," Blanche welcomed, beaming. She turned to James to share in her approval of him joining.

He looked over and saw Azazel feeling surprised. It was awkward mode all over again.

"Oh, yeah, sure. We don't bite hard. Well, we don't really bite to begin with."

James was trying extremely hard to avoid blushing. Damn him.

Blanche raised her eyebrow a little at James. He was being... a bit strange? Maybe? Sort of awkward. It wasn’t like him to be like that with people. Did they know each other or...? She looked between them with her eyes narrowed suspiciously.

Azazel gave them a small smile and sat down, he caught James in the corner of his eye and wondered what he was thinking. He honestly did not think that the trip to Hogwarts would be so awkward, though he had no idea what to expect as this was his first trip.

Azazel found it weird that at this time he was chosen to attend Hogwarts as he heard that most started when they were eleven. What is my master up to?' He thought to himself.

"So, do ya come around here often?"

Facepalm. Here was James asking the worst and wrong questions once again. Dude couldn't flirt for shit.

"So, she's Blanche. She's pretty cool and has some pipes. We had our own garage band once. We only made two songs."

Azazel just smirked at James' question he knew that the other knew he hadn't, but he had to blend in here. It is the same thing every year is it not?" He replied though figured James was also flirting with him, which was also funny as he was so bad at it.

"Nice to meet you Blanche, oh really you guys wrote two songs In wouldn't mind hearing them," he said as he offered his hand to Blanche. 'I so got this.' Azazel thought to himself he just had to lay low and not let too many people in.

"Only 'pretty cool' James?!" She protested, breaking from her moment of utter confusion. "I guess we can give an exclusive one-time private show!" She said, grinning as she took Azazel's hand and shook it.

He chuckled at Blanche's comment. He was having a hard time finding words.

"Oh, yeah. We can definitely do a private one-time show."

James grabbed his guitar case to pull out his guitar. "Um, my voice dropped some since we recorded the songs..."

With his guitar in hand, he began strumming it. "It doesn't sound the same in acoustic."

"Crunchy wah ter. Crunchy wah ter."

Azazel sat back and listened to James play however he could not help but laugh at the first few lyrics. It wasn't bad it just sounded weird and well he guesses that they wrote it when they were still rather young. Thinking how lucky he was to have James now, and so far not get caught yet by his master just made it all the more sweeter.

"Really crunchy water?" He asked wondering what was the reasoning to for the lyrics, and if there was anything behind them.

"It swam around, just like a fish, picked it up, put it on a dish!"

Blanche wriggled her hand like a fish in front of her. Thinking about these lyrics, she knew that she and James had spilled out a lot of nonsense but it made sense to them at the time. She giggled when Azazel questioned the main title lyric. It was pretty funny.

When they'd done their little sample, Blanche did her finale as a punch through the air.

"Do you think you could have a go at writing some music, Azazel?" She asked, genuinely interested. She seemed to have temporarily forgotten the awkwardness several minutes ago.

"Do you remember what went through our minds when we wrote that? 'My Mother Is A Space Cadet' is quite obvious."

The world will probably never find out whose mother it's referring to.

James smiled and thought about what he knew about Azazel. "I'd reckon he'd probably make Norwegian death metal."

"That's pretty specific," Blanche laughed. "Why Norwegian?" Was he Norwegian?

James shrugged as if it was obvious. Lifting a section of Azazel's hair, he said, "He has the look."

"How does it feel to be Norwegian now, Azazel?" She gave him two thumbs up.

Vanessa was walking past a compartment when she heard the mention of music. She stopped and listened for a moment before entering the compartment "hello. I'm Vanessa Zabini"

Azazel could not believe that he was being asked if he wrote music, well he did before he went to bed however it was just lyrics that he would sometimes compose music to when he got a chance on the piano without his master in the room. He reached into his bag and pulled out a ragged notepad, his sacred note pad and just handed it to James without saying a word. The first couple songs were about a boy in a playground once when they first met and the second when he had to stop seeing him. "I guess I write more lyrics as I hardly have access to the piano in my family's home." He replied as another girl entered which he immediately went quiet as he was comfortable with James and his friend but this person did not seem to know any of them.

”Ooh!”

She got that the notepad was being given to James to read, but she immediately sunk down next to him and started butting her head in, wanting to get a look. Her mouth was slightly open as her eyes scrolled back and forth, and she nodded a few times, thoughtfully.

It was probably good for Azazel that the girl turned up. Blanche was distracted from reading at once.

”Hey Vanessa, doll,” She grinned widely at her. She didn’t know her, but had these little pet names for absolute strangers. [b]”Ooh. Aren’t you that girl that’s sometimes in the music classroom?” She asked excitedly.

James was reading through the notepad trying to resist from tearing up before he pulled out his trunk and began looking through it for one of many notebooks. Once he grabbed a particular notebook, he flipped to a certain spread of pages and handed it to Azazel.

All he offered to Vanessa was a small wave where he didn't even look at her. He had other focuses.

Vanessa smirked at blanches little nickname "yeah I am. I'm the new music apprentice." She said pushing her hair back " can I join you? I wanted to talk to Blanche about her band" she said trying not to seem nervous
