battle royale (james)

First topic message reminder :

Fred woke up, and went outside his cabin. It was early - the sun had barely risen - and there was a sharp coldness to the air. He wrapped his gown tighter around his body, shuddering slightly, his novelty bear-feet slippers squelching against the dewy ground. Realising he should probably put on more clothes than just his pants, he went to go inside again.

But then he stopped.

The door of his hut, and the windows either side of it, were covered in a generous lashing of pigeon poo.

"Fuckers!" He cursed to the air, slipping inside to grab his 20 gauge. Once he had it, he started loading in some shells and muttering to himself. "Come out then, ya bastard pigeons!"

"I'm barely awake. I might end up causing some accidents. What if I somehow manage to shoot Headmistress Voclain in the head from here?"

Fred laughed.

"That won't happen," He assured, wading through the forest.

Then, all of a sudden, he hit an invisible wall.

It was like he had just walked into tree, but there was no tree there. "Argh! What the...?" Rubbing the side of his cheek where the impact happened the most, he put his hand out in front of him. His palm touched an invisible barrier. "That smarmy bastard..." He muttered, annoyed. "Riddle. I bet you ANY money he's cased in me clay shooter on purpose..."

James began freaking out. What the hell was he going to do?

"Uh, do you know if it was put there because of Halloween..?"

"Yup. I told ya. They fixed this up to stop students gettin' near the vine."

He tapped on the barrier.

"By they - I mean Riddle. The prick." Hmm. "Help me find the perimeters of this thing so I can mark it off, will ya?" He hadn't thought of James's reluctance.

How exactly could he? He was already affected by the vine once; nobody knew how it worked.

James stood there just slightly kicking at it.

"Cheers."

Hopefully he would be a little more resourceful than just kicking it. But, in the mean time, Fred stood with his feet slightly spread apart and took up his shotgun. Taking aim, he thought he would warn James simply by yelling:

"Pull!"

BANG.

"Nope, not even a dent. Fuck I hate that guy."

Fred glanced over at James. "Are ya gonna cheer up some now, by the way?"
