Although Emmerich and his family ventured to Britain in pursuit of one particular target, Emmerich was still keen to get an idea about where most of the vampires in the country frequented. Knockturn Alley was an obvious place to start. So far it seemed as though it was a place reserved for the dregs of society, as well as being an up-and-coming place for youth to mingle so that it might lose this reputation.

He selected the pub to have a drink, hoping to get some actual names of likely candidates from drunken patrons.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the next one to enter would know exactly where Matei was? Or, if it were the beast herself?

It was pub-hopping hour! Elysia had spent a few of her waking hours scouring out various abandoned, dilapidated buildings to see if there were any demonic presences housed inside.

Entering the pub, she immediately spotted someone who appeared out of place. She slowly approached him before whispering in his ear, "Did somebody commit arson at the insurance agency?"

It took a while for him to digest the words that were whispered to him. It was quite difficult to surprise someone like Emmerich, so at least he hadn't flinched.

"I don't know vhat you're talking about."

... and he had very little sense of humour. He looked at the young woman. She looked like someone who might be involved with Vampires, although there were many non-magical folk in Germany who dressed similarly.

"Is that your way of ordering a fireviskey?"

Damn, did adults lack a sense of humor nowadays? How lame!

"No, I was actually commenting on how out of place you look."

Emmerich didn't smile, but looked as though he was trying to. It was a rather unnerving display.

"And vat sort of people do you usually see in a place like this?" He asked her, heading back to his usual goal.
