slip away (Dominique)

Javier was happy to see that most of the students who were attending the formal seemed to be following the rules. There was no one acting out extravagantly or anything of the likes. That made his job much easier since he was expected to keep an eye on things just as the rest of the professors were. Of course, he had turned his head and pretended not to see a small infraction or two. He would never be that professor who would call a student out for toeing the line and crossing it just that little bit. He wasn't a hypocrite since he was that type of student in his time in school back in Brazil. Maybe he still pushed the limits just a little bit. Either way, he wasn't about to scold the students for a little harmless fun.

Still, his mind wasn't fully on the students or his chaperoning duties anyway. Instead he was looking around for one certain person to make her appearance. He knew that she would be there, she had told him that she planned to attend and he would never pass up an opportunity to spend time with Dominique. As soon as he spotted her in the crowd of students and other adults that had come to attend the event, he began to make his way over to her. Upon reaching her, he placed an arm around her waist and leaned in to whisper against her ear. "You look absolutely stunning tonight." He said, meaning every word.

Javier nodded politely towards healer Ashton as he stole Dominique away from her with his genuine compliment. He smiled at Dominique as she responded, not removing his arm from her waist but leaning in to kiss her cheek as he felt her soft lips against his cheek. "It is quite beautiful." He agreed, though he wasn't looking at the room around him instead he was looking directly at her. In his opinion, she was the most beautiful person in the room. "I'm happy you were able to make it tonight. Chaperoning these things is always incredibly dull but at least there is a bright spot when you attend as well." She made it actually enjoyable. Even if he maybe didn't do much chaperoning when he was with her. Oh well.

Dominique smiled at him and then blushed when she realized he was looking at her as he spoke. "I am glad I came as well. I do enjoy spending time with you." She smiled at him and placed her hand in his, "You won't make me dance alone, right?"

"I enjoy spending time with you very much as well." He confirmed, wanting her to know that he felt the same way. He knew that he had been very busy this school year and hadn't been able to make nearly enough time to spend with her as he would have liked to but he was glad that she didn't seem to hold that against him. "I would never." He said as he closed his hand around her much smaller one before placing his other hand on her waist. The song playing was slow, perfect for getting close to your date as you sway on the dancefloor which was exactly what he did as he held her in his arms. "I do hope we will be able to see more of each other once exams are over and break begins."
