Letters in the wind (open)

Alayna walked up the stone stair case to the owlery with her letter to her mother in her hand. She had not told her parents of the engagement over break due to how her father may have reacted. She attatched the letter to a school owl and stroked it's head gently before watching it take off in the night sky.

Ezekiel was walking to the Owlery to send his letter home when he came across his fellow Gryffindor. He smirked at her before sending his letter off with his owl. "Hey Alayna, penny for your thoughts?" Asked Ezekiel.

Alayna looked up when she heard her name and saw one of her housemates there, "Oh. Hey Ezekiel. Not alot of thoughts really. Just sending a note home to my mother. She worries."

Ezekiel never knew what it was like to have that mother figure to worry like he once did. He simply nodded like he understood. "Can't blame a mother for worrying" was all he said as his reply.

"I don't. But I do blame my father for not worrying. He's one of those hands off parent types. Let's mother handle anything involving the children." She didn't know why she was unloading onto this guy, but she was, "Sorry."

Ezekiel didn't think there was a lot to worry about when it came to the Nott family, obviously there was more about that family then he believed, but being who he was he wasn't going to pry. "Well whatever it is I hope it gets better, you deserve to be happy and to smile when it comes to life" Ezekiel was being nice.

Alayna couldn't help but smile at his words, "Thanks. It should all get better soon. daggers been helping me alot." She blushed a bit at the thought of her boyfriend before laughing, "Kind of silly."

Ezekiel remembered hearing how Dagger, the man whore in Hogwarts had finally met his match and began to actually date Alayna Nott. "Well I am glad you have someone there, it's not good to keep things inside" he said to her. He knew that feeling.
