Though a wizard Hartley is quite proud of his muggle roots and still partakes in muggle activities and hobbies such as reading muggle comic books, he has a particular liking towards DC heroes though he does like the X-Men, and listening to muggle music though he dislikes hip-hop/rap music. He loves dogs and coffee and finds rainy days relaxing especially if there is a good book, regular or comic, to read.

He is a perfectionist and because of this he doesn’t like to give tasks to others when he knows that he can do it better himself. He is very passionate and honest and will often look outside the box when looking for solutions whether it be work or pleasure. He is naturally curious and strong-willed and never gives up on a project once begun. He can be a little disorganized however and is known it let praise go to his head.




Hartley comes from a long line of muggle medics as his father Adam Cohen is a well-known and respected cardiologist while his mother Dalia Levine-Cohen is a paediatrician. His older siblings Abigail who is a GP while Levi is a geneticist working in genomics. His grandfather’s on both sides were/are also doctors.
Of course he could have ended up at St Mungo’s and he would have been happy with that but the lure of the unknown and his desire to learn anything and everything he possibly could took him to the Department of Mysteries and to be an Unspeakable, though he prefers to be called a magical scientist.
Though surprised at first that they had a magical child both Adam and Dalia are very supportive of Hartley. Hartley is close to both siblings but in particular his brother Levi and they actually share a townhouse in London together.
