Invent a spell, a potion, a dark artefact, an item or place in the wizarding world! We want to expand upon the world and come up with our own ideas, so this is your chance to. To apply, please fill out the form below and reply to this topic.
- Code:
[b]Type:[/b] Spell, Potion, etc
[b]Description:[/b] What does the spell / potion do, what is the artefact, what is the place. If it is a dark artefact, please state where it is currently. I'd like to have some for sale at Borgin & Burkes!
[b]Incantation:[/b] Put N/A if this isn't a spell
[b]Level:[/b] Put N/A if this isn't a spell or potion. If it is, indicate the level of difficulty it takes to cast/brew it. Is it something only 6th years plus would be able to do, or is it something not even taught at Hogwarts, so of an advanced level (such as becoming an animagus, etc).
[b]Limitations:[/b] Again, put N/A if it doesn't apply. But with a spell, think about how it can be counteracted or repelled, or if it's a potion think about things like prolonged use, or if one of the ingredients is really rare, or it takes a long time to brew.

Dark Artefacts
The Warlock's Castle
Location: Borgin & Burkes
A seemingly vacant portrait of a handsome castle which is likely to be recognisable from wizarding children who read 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard'. In the book there is an illustration of this castle, which was owned by the wealthy warlock in the story 'The Warlock's Hairy Heart'.
To most people, the portrait is an empty landscape with the castle in the centre; but the original painter cursed it with dark magic hundreds of years ago. Those who are considered the right sort of person - an individual much like the warlock in the story, unfeeling, selfish and views love as frivolous - may see something else in the portrait.
In the highest tower depicted in the portrait, a set of eyes may appear. If the individual looks directly into the eyes, the eyes of the warlock, they are possessed by the soul of the warlock.
They may seem perfectly normal (for them) on the outside, but they will be inflicted with an insatiable blood lust. The cursed individual will seek to beguile someone, to make that person fall in love with them. Then, when the cursed one is confident they have their victim's love, they will seek to carve out their heart.
The Storyteller
Location: Borgin & Burkes
A large quill fashioned with a large, elegant ostrich feather. The nib is needle-sharp and intricately decorated, which makes it seem like a beautiful, elaborate gift for a loved one. The quill stands on its point, all on its own, very still: not even its feather is stirred by a passing breeze. It's frozen on the spot, until someone tries to come near it.
Then it lashes out, seeking blood from its point. It's been known to stab and slash at wizards mercilessly, but it is possible to subdue it with force. You may endure a lot of peril beforehand though, and merely give up.
But once subdued, the quill becomes like any other. If you write with it, it etches to your skin (like Umbridge's quill). But what it really wants to do is tell a story. It will continue to slash and stab at you every so often, until you start to write a story. If the story is about your friend, that friend will endure everything that is written... with dire consequences.
Previous users have tried to tell a story of immense wealth and fortune given to them, or of the world becoming theirs, but the quill always takes more than your blood. It only wants grief in the stories you write, it wants failure and misery and loss. Wizards have succumbed to getting everything, but losing everything else they once had.
Sapphire Pendant
Location: Borgin & Burkes
Although the jewel in the pendant is the colour of amethyst, the necklace is purple sapphire. When a woman pure of heart wears it, and is married, it shines brightly like no other jewel. But if she commits adultery, the necklace will attempt to strangle her. As one would expect, the maker of this necklace was a wizard who succumbed to the same fate: his wife slept with another.
