• Originally from Kent but moved to Fort Augustus, near Loch Ness in Scotland with his Dad when he was seven years old, following the loss of his Mother to a traffic accident. He is an only child.
  
• The way his Dad coped with the loss was to move away from a busy, traffic-laden city and pursue his intrigue for legends and fables that one could only find in the most isolated parts of the country. The Loch Ness Monster was one of these legends he was particularly enthused by, so they moved to an old cabin near the Loch and got started with their new life. There were groups of people, other enthusiasts whom he befriended, who took to the Loch in search of the legendary creature. Of course, as muggles, they had no idea of its actual existance and that it was a Kelpie - a type of magical creature.
  
• He discovered his magic whilst living there.
  
• While he is thoughtful and kind, he puts a lot of pressure on himself to please everyone all the time.
