Flash! Bam! Alakazam! (Thius)

Sliding into the bathroom before she was due to meet up with Melanthius, she hurriedly ran her fingers through her hair and parted it properly, then stepped back a little, turning left to right, to check her dress was right. No - it wasn't tucked into her knickers, it wasn't creased, check. As she smiled slightly into the mirror, she stopped admiring herself when the reality of the matter sank in.

One - she had made an effort to change out of her uniform after classes. Two - she had spent some time selecting this particular dress, which was a rather simple black round-neck and short sleeves, that came in at the waist and out at her hips, and rested several inches above her knee. She'd paired it with her net stockings, her lace-up boots and neck ribbon. It was showing the swell of her chest.

Three - she had done all this, knowing she was going to meet up with Melanthius in particular.

Why had she gone to so much effort for duelling?!

The thing was, she knew that he had been looking at her in that way. As far as she was aware, no one had looked at her quite like that before. And after a series of rejections from various boys, including that Veela who had outright insulted her; Bellona would never admit it, but it had made her feel slightly insecure. Now someone was actually noticing her as a young woman!  

But it was... well... Thius. He certainly didn't look like the catch of the day, but he wasn't ugly. He wasn't ugly at all, actually. He was quite... handsome.

Exiting the bathroom and trying to pull herself together, she made way to the duelling chamber and decided to fire off a few spells just to push her mind away from Thius and onto the task at hand. After a short while, it was pushed to the back of her mind again.

Her as his map? The way his stomsch was spinning and how his entire body was tingling, Thius wondered if he spontaneously developed new nerve endings.

"Are there booby traps in your room?"

As his hand lightly brushed against hers, his eyes began to linger down again.

"Is that why I need your supervision?"

Bellona laughed.

"No, theres no booby traps. Discordia might have some, I don't know. I haven't been into her room for years." For obvious reasons... 

She looked down as something tickled her hand, and noticed that his wasn't far off. 

"I just don't like people being in my room without me there. Okay?" Her eyes were very icy as she looked at him, but she didnt make any attempt to move her hand.

"So, where in the house would I go if not your room?"

Also, just how big was that house? How did anybody not get lost?

"Would I still require your supervision?"

Thius bit his lip as he moved his hand a bit closer.

Maybe he wanted to find out if her hands were always naturally cool... Or not.

"The dining room, one of the lounges, I expect. Perhaps the drawing room depending on how many guests were there at one time. Why would you want to wander off on your own anyway?"

She narrowed her eyes suspiciously, and her hand did start turning colder. A slight frost was forming beneath her fingers where they rested on the bench.

"Do you think you'll see something seedy? A lot of people make that misconception, and those who do get an indoor blizzard."

"Well, I'm certainly not going to follow you to the ladies' room, unless you want me to wait for you..."

He shook his head as he noticed that the bench was starting to cool down. He wouldn't mind if she used it on him; he would let her as she pleased. That was a bit strange to think about...

"Are you used to having your siblings snoop on you?"

"Of course you wouldn't! You sound like you've never been to someone's house before, Merlin's beard."


She moved her hand to her lap.

"It happens with some of them, but they learn to stay away."

She didn't like all these questions about her house. Purebloods sometimes liked to be extremely nosy about the affairs of other purebloods, find out if they had any secrets or trinkets that were connected to the dark arts, so they could exploit each other if something went sour. While she wanted to believe Melanthius wasn't one of these people, she still had her guard up.

"I'm going to go back to the common room soon. Are you coming?"

"I know some anti-intruder spells that I could place on your bedroom door. I did that immediately when I returned home for the Christmas holidays," he offered, leaving his hand on the bench to better feel the bit of residue frost. "It may make you feel better about it... I always disliked it when Mippy would come in while I was occupied..."

He asked questions a lot as if he wasn't a Slytherin, he probably would've been placed in Ravenclaw. Thius was always the more inquisitive type no matter what was interesting him. Right now, he really wanted to get to know Bellona.

Thius nodded before adding, "I do need to finish up an assignment before dinner."
