Pandora grew up in New York, more of the outskirts but still, she considers herself a true New Yorker and her parents were loving, strict at times when it came to her training but no matter what, she knew they loved her and only were strict because it would be good for her in the future. It was. At a young age, she was attacked by a grown man and with her fighting skills, she fought back and escaped, without any wounds. She seemed to have a skill that allowed her to know what their next move was so she didn't get any fatal wounds, only going out of the fight with bruises or a split lip.

Pandora tried her hardest, to make her parents happy and when she got her letter for Illvermony, they were so incredibly proud. In her third year, a strange vampire professor joined with the name of Desmond Barnes and she admired her, there was something about him that caused her heart to sing and made her so eager to go to his classes. She spent the rest of her years that she was in school, trying to impress him with her high grades and flirtatious smiles but he was having none of it, not wanting to sleep with a student. Then when she came back to become the librarian, the library having been her safe haven when she was in school, they reunited and she had somehow managed to seduce him.

However, even this bit of happiness had its downfall. She had fallen pregnant with Hope. At first she was so very terrified and knew she couldn't tell Desmond so she quit, claiming that personal things got in the way and that she'd return one day, when she was truly ready and when she had lived a bit. She was wealthy enough to do so. She told her parents and whilst her mother was a bit horrified, her father was completely overjoyed and gave Pandora everything she needed.

Hope was born and Pandora instantly fell in love, promising the tiny baby to always care for her and that she wouldn't need her father, as she was there, to protect her for the rest of her life. Ten years later, Pandora knew that when her baby girl would turn eleven, she could go back to the Library and keep an eye on Hope and perhaps rekindle what she had with Desmond.

The Abhorsen Family is ancient, one that is already forgotten and hidden behind the famous pureblood families and they enjoyed that. They weren't hunted for their money, they were simply there to exist and they would so in the shadows until they die out. Hope is the youngest member of the family and Pandora watches over her like a hawk, even when the little girl doesn't think she is around.
