The Sound of Silence (Open)
It wasn't late, but dinner had passed and the red haired girl had a smile on her face as she moved silently around the table. On it, in neat rows and piles, were a multitude of ingredients that she had bought herself so that she could really push the limits on her potion making skills. This particular brew was beyond the usual seventh year curriculum- a challenge presented to her by Mr Jigger of the apothecary that she regularly visited during the summer.
Amber's wand waved gently over the bubbling liquid that filled the cauldron, the mixture within swirling as though being stirred with a spoon. It was far from finished, but the Slytherin was certain that it was going to work out okay, provided that she did not get distracted. She hoped that once it was complete she would be able to offer it for use in the hospital wing. More over, she hoped that it was good enough to be used in the hospital wing.
After setting a small timer on its end, enchanted so that it would softly chime out in the chilly, still air of the dungeon when it was finished, Amber sat quietly on a chair. She opened an old book in her lap and began to read, only to hear the tell tale sound of footsteps in the hall outside the closed door.

Needless to say, Josh probably had the worst luck when it came to potions.
Nine times out of ten, he'd brew something, and it would explode. Either because something fell into the brew, or one of the Hogwarts ghosts would knock something into it. And then it'd blow up... And get sticky shit all over the Gryffindor Common Room. And then he'd have to run when the Prefects showed up.
Josh had found a little corridor in the dungeons to practice Potions in, and to do his projects in. At least here, if he made a mistake, he could just clean it up and start again. With no people around.
Or, that was how it had been. When he stepped into the little end corridor he was used to using since last year, he would blink when he saw that someone else had beaten him here.
"Oh! I didn't know anyone else came in here" He would admit with a light chuckle as he looked her over. "Am I intruding?"

Athena had been walking around the castle after dinner as she didnt want to yet retire to the dungeons. But as it got later she decided to finally head to her room to prepare for bed. However, she didnt expect to bump into two class mates on her way there. She smiled at one of her house mates, an older girl, and the boy "Hello Amber. Hello person I dont know. Am I interrupting a little love session here?" She asked smirking a bit
