At Louis' suggestion, James made the decision to go see Professor Riddle about his recent spat with Chang. Sure, he could've gone to Professor Shaw, but he wasn't sure if she'd do something about it. Aunt 'Mione would've just had the two to talk to each other in her office as the room stank of essential oils, and he didn't want to deal with being stuck in the same room as him with his aunt sitting right in front of them. This left Professor Riddle being the most favorable situation of the three; being the second-in-command of Hogwarts, he'd have more power to do something about it. He also came across as being the least biased person to talk about this plight to.

Was Professor Riddle in his office currently? He hoped so otherwise the trip would've been a waste. For a few moments, James paced around feeling hesitant to knock the door; he could feel his nerves bursting at the mere thought of opening up for once. James Sirius Potter never talks about his issues. Finally, he took a deep breath and finally knocked. "Professor Riddle? Are ye in there?"

"There's a new man there now - Orthwaite Barking - he may be susceptible enough."

"Does that dog do tricks?" Lochlan sneered, peering at the face of the man inside of his fireplace.

"It's difficult to say right now, but I can certainly keep an eye on him for you. What of Mr Pembroke?"

"An unfortunate accident, I think. I don't know. There could be--"

There was a knock at his door. The two men looked at each other. Lochlan nodded at him, and the man's face disappeared. Although he had soundproofed his office so that no one on the outside could listen in, he was still alerted when someone came to his door. Lochlan waved his wand, and the door opened - revealing James Potter. From his position sat behind his desk, Lochlan smiled at him.

"What a pleasant surprise! Come on in, James," he beckoned him with a lively wave. "Shut the door and have a seat. There's something I can help you with, I assume?"

He could feel a weight on his shoulders lift the moment the door waved open; thank Merlin that he wouldn't have to hunt Professor Riddle down as he'd probably end up with another week of detention before covering half of the castle.

Entering the office, James gently shut the door behind him. Unlike some of his professor's offices, James was afraid he'd accidentally shatter the room if he acted too carelessly. "Er, yeah, there is actually." He took one of the seats across from his desk.

"Y'know Lien Chang? He's always tryin' to find a reason to give me detention over harmless pranks. It's gettin' irritating!"

It probably sounded as if he was whining. "I have housemates who behave objectively worse than I do!"
