Matilda was weeping on the floor of the hotel room she spent the night at. The man who she had slept with was also on the floor - his eyes were stark open - and he was clearly dead. A coral snake was curling around her ankles and rippling over the man's body.
"You're not supposed to bite them!" She protested, in Parseltongue, to the snake. "Now what am I supposed to do? People will think that I set you on him on purpose!"
That'ssss not my problem... The snake responded.
No one saw her with the snake entering the hotel, perhaps she could get away with it. Perhaps if she was fed veritaserum in court, she could confess her innocence. Yes - that's right - it was just an accident.
But the poor man!
