Arithmancy: The Core ((6-7))

Being under the assumption that the students who would be in this course were already familiar with the basics, Diethelm opted to immediately dive into one of the most fundamental aspects of numerology and how it related to them. He desired for his students to really comprehend how numbers are everything and that there is a lot to learn by figuring out the calculations for various aspects of their existence.


He awaited the arrival of his pupils from his desk.

Feeling fairly positive about classes this year, Faye entered the Arithmancy classroom with her head held high. She had taken the subject in her third year, and had no desire to drop it for NEWT level. As it had quite a lot of links to muggle mathematics, she seemed fairly good at it, although sometimes it was a lot to take in.

Taking her usual seat in the classroom, she looked at the Professor. He was new this year, and quite a positive change from his predecessor. Faye thought he was quite handsome, and all of a sudden felt very aware of being the first one to arrive. She couldn't even manage a 'hello'.

She busied herself with getting her things out of her bag, feeling a little hot.

Blanche bounced into the classroom and waved enthusiastically at the new Professor.

"Hi there, Professor!" She chirped, and went to snuggle Faye. Faye seemed adamant on pushing her away, so Blanche stuck her tongue out at her and took a seat nearby.

"The soul urge... ooh core. Life path..." She said this under her breath while reading the board. It all sounded so interesting. Out of all of her subjects, Arithmancy wasn't her strongest, but she still enjoyed it. It was a very un-Blanche-like subject, some might say. Mostly because it didn't involve making much noise.

He was genuinely surprised when he did well enough in arithmancy for the NEWTs level; hopefully, this new professor would actually do a good job at teaching. The previous one was dubious with their teaching methods.

Cernunnos immediately rushed to a chair after looking at the teacher. Free eye candy! How was he ever going to pay attention?
