Boohoo (cherry)

As much as Faye tried to avoid looking at Narks and Cherry, she couldn’t help but have her eyes wandering. She hated how he seemed so affectionate with her! When did they really talk? It wasn’t while she had been around, that was for certain.

Now in a bit of a bad mood, she sulked off to the entrance hall to get a bit of a breather.

Cherry had been enjoying her night mainly having random deep discussions about the state of the school, some of the questionable music choices, and just plain joking around.

Wanting to check the reception so she can try and show Narkissos a few memes, she went out near the entrance hall and noticed Faye.

"Hi!" she greeted with a little wave.

The volcano of her frustration had been bubbling up, and now it was reaching nearer the surface. She looked flushed and giddy and happy: waving across at her as though they were friends or something. This went a little deeper than just Narks... Cherry seemed to always be above her. She was quite sure she was Healer Lestrange’s favourite as well...

Why?! What was it about this girl?

”Why are you talking to me like we’re friends?” She spat out, her insides grating with jealousy.

Cherry was puzzled at Faye's rash reaction; seemed to be a bit too angry, wasn't it?

"We're housemates! Why wouldn't I be friendly to a housemate?"

Argh! The nerve of her. Faye felt as though Cherry was mocking her. Her sensitivity was at peak, and everything Cherry said felt like a personal insult.

”You think you’re so...” She couldn’t quite choose a word for what she was. ”You just love having everyone wrapped around your little finger, don’t you? Mr Lestrange, and now Narks. Who else is there? Because two probably isn’t enough for you!”

”You must have quite low self-esteem,” She said nastily, eyeing her up and down with a perched brow.

"Wait a minute... What?"

Cherry was now very confused by Faye's tirade.

"Just because I'm a teacher's pet doesn't mean I'd sleep with them!"

Narks, on the other hand, um.

"What makes you say that?"

”I didn’t say anything about sleeping with them, but looks like you’ve got it on the brain, doesn’t it?” She looked very smarmy and satisfied with herself after saying that. Of course, she heavily implied there was something sexual in it. She just didn’t want to lose to her again...

”If you feel you have the need to be surrounded in attention and praise, I’d say you do!” She lashed, narrowing her eyes.

”Why did you ask Narks anyway? It’s not like he’s interested in you.”

She was clutching at straws here. Her face was flushed. She knew that she was in the wrong, really.

She cocked her head just unsure of how to respond to the accusations that were being thrown at her.

"If I didn't think he would've been interested, I wouldn't have asked him."

Checkmate.

”I— he...”

Was she absolutely stupid here? Their friendship had felt like it had grown stronger over the last few months, and he was more... attentive. She realised that she had made a huge mistake. She had been stupid.

Narks wasn’t into her like that.

Faye stared to well up, and turned from her angrily. ”I have to go to the bathroom!” She croaked.

Well... That ended abruptly.

Cherry glanced at her surroundings trying to spin her mind around what had just occurred.
