A proper investigation (invitation only)

Cassandra made her way into the Backstage area where Hermione's body still lay. Sitting next to the body, still in quite the state of shock, was James Potter. "Cassandra Night, Unspeakable. I'll be taking point on this investigation. I need a minute to examine the body, but then I would like to have a chat with you," Cassandra said, getting the boy's attention.

James was slowly reaching the point to where what he was witnessed was reality. Though he was still in shock, it was gradually being replaced by a sense of guilt and helplessness. Had he arrived just even a minute earlier, Hermione would still be alive.

"No, no no..." He was turning into an emotional wreck with no idea of how to even process them.

His descent into tears was interrupted when an official arrived at the scene. James stood up after hearing the woman and backed away from the body. He still couldn't believe it.

With James out of the way, Cassandra went over to the freshly dead corpse of Hermione and flicked her wand a couple of times, performing diagnostics charms, though all they did was confirm all the information that Harrison had provided, that she was killed recently and that it was by a killing curse.

Standing up to her full height once again, Cassandra turned to face James, "You were the one to find her right?" Cassandra said, starting in on her questioning.

Cassandra perked up at Jame's statement, hopefully this investigation was that easy. "So, tell me, what happened?" Cassandra replied with, pulling out her notebook and pen to take down notes.

"I was looking for someone who's tall with long dark hair and bunch of tattoos. Well, when I found him, he appeared to be having a conversation with my aunt..." It was a bit surprising how he managed to be composed for this interrogation. "Then I saw him use the killing curse."

Cassandra made sure to tamp down her reactions as James gave out a description of the attacker. "Now, why were you trying to find this person?" Cassandra followed up.

James bit his lip hearing that question. Oof. "Um, well, he was my boyfriend."

That response caused a minuscule smile to form on Cassandra's face. This was the type of testimony that made a high profile case easy. "And do they happen to have a name?"

That brought a real smile out from Cassandra. "Thank you for your cooperation," she said, writing the name down and and closing her notebook. "I would suggest, given everything you've been through, that you invest in a good therapist, they can help a lot," Cassandra stated before making her way out of the room.

As soon as she left James behind, Cassandra started to track down Harrison as quickly as possible. When she finally finds him, she pulls him away from everyone, and throws up a couple privacy wards before stating, "I got a name."'

"You have? That was quick." This meant they were one step closer to bringing Hermione justice.

"The kid saw everything, going need some serious help to sort himself out after everything he saw, especially since our killer is Azazel Baptist," Cassandra explained, "Have you managed to get a perimeter, or do we have to chase this kid across the country?"

His heart sunk a bit hearing the name. Goddammit. Harrison tried and keep it together for the sake of professionalism. "If my instincts are right, he may be running off somewhere. I saw his wand at the scene."

"Make sure someone is covering the body, get that wand into evidence, and have someone on it at all times in case someone tries to reclaim it. Have everyone else fan out looking for the kid, we have the who, and we need to act on it quickly, but we don't have a why, so we need the kid alive. Make sure nobody leaks anything to the press, we don't want him dead in a ditch by a random wizard who was a fan of Hermione," Cassandra dolled out orders before heading back towards her perch to see if she can spot the young man in the crowd.

Harrison nodded as he summoned his kit for collecting evidence to make sure the wand wouldn't get contaminated. "If I have to, I'll push James out of the way even though it seemed like he was doing a fine job of making sure nobody touched it..." This was going to be exhausting.

He made a return to the crime scene and frowned seeing James just be a shell of himself. He gently tapped him on the shoulder and said, "I'm only here to collect evidence."
