Stood up (Louis/Carina)

Mackenzie didn't want to be the one to tell Louis Carina wasn't going on the date. But Carina had asked her to. She told her to tell him she was sick. But in reality she was scared after everything Faye Phiera had told her about Louis. She understood why, but she could have just told him herself. She walked down to the entrance hall where she found Louis waiting. She bit her lip as she walked over to him "hey Louis. I've got some bad news. Carina can't go out with you today. She's sick" she said twirling a lock of her hair which was a tell take sign she was lying. But he didn't know that... Right? She just hoped he didn't ask alot of questions. But knowing Louis, she knew he was going to.

Louis had been waiting in the entrance hall where he agreed to meet Carina. There were plenty of other students milling about; going together in their groups and couples to confirm their permission to go to Hogsmeade. He wasn't nervous, despite having waited a while. He smiled, knowing that she would arrive eventually...

Then, surprisingly, Mackenzie approached him. He smiled at her, but she didn't seem to smile back.

"Oh..." His heart, and face, sank in disappointment. "Is she in the Hospital Wing now?" He asked, wanting to go and see her. He wasn't going to Hogsmeade without her.

Mackenzie could see the hurt on his face and that caused he a pain of her own"um... No. She's in her common room I think" she said tugging on her hair even more. She felt like shit. "of I were you I'd just leave it" she said not wanting to have him go look for her

There was something not quite right about this. He wondered then, if Carina really could be sick after all. The fact that Mackenzie was suggesting that he dropped the matter was what made him think.

"What kind of illness does she have? Perhaps if I owl her, we could meet and I could see what I could do? I understand if she doesn't feel like going to the Hospital Wing..." Of course he was hitting her with questions at this point.

Mackenzie was beginning to panic a bit. She wasn't a good liar. "she um... She's got a stomach ache. And a head ache..." She said making something up that would be kind of believable "she's just not feeling well" when he suggested owling her MacKenzie's eyes widened "no! I mean... That won't be necessary. I plan to take care of her. She's gonna stay the night with me, " damn it. Now he knew she would be in the Hufflepuff dorms "I mean..."

Louis watched her dither, then he sighed.

"She's not really sick, is she?" He concluded, watching Mackenzie carefully.

Mackenzie bit her lip and shook her head "no. She's scared. She may have been told some things by Faye Phiera. She's freaked out. Faye told her it wasn't really a date. That you were like this with all the girls. It made Carina feel... Not special to you. I don't know. She said that she had been to hogsmeade with you plenty of times and you were all touchy feely with everyone"

"... I see."

He couldn't be angry at Faye, because it wasn't in his nature to be. He filed it under a 'misunderstanding'. He appreciated that Faye may be looking out for him, and perhaps for Carina as well, so all what he needed to do was assure Carina of his 'intentions'.

"I need to talk to Carina," He said, smiling at Mackenzie. "Don't worry. I won't get you into trouble. I will say that I found out some other way." He went to touch her hand, but realised that that was exactly the sort of thing he was being accused of. Better not.

"she should be in the astronomy tower. That's where she goes when she's upset" Mackenzie said nodding and looking at him " you may want to talk to Faye about interfering with your love life. Based on rumors.... This isn't the first time" she then walked off just as Carina made her way down the stairs

Carina walked down the stairs and froze when she saw Louis. She didn't think he would still be here. She knew she was screwed now that he had seen her. She walked over to him, her eyes on the floor "I thought you would have left by now"

Louis saw Carina, and was glad he wouldn't have to chase around to try and find her.

"I would have waited here for longer, then I would have gone back to the common room. I wouldn't go without you." He took her chin between his forefinger and thumb, and tilted her head so that they were looking at one another. "I wanted to spend the day with you because I like you. And by that... I mean more than just a friend."

Just so they were clear.

"I want to spend time with you so I can get to know you, Carina."

Carina felt her bottom lip begin to tremble "I like you too, Louis. Just... The things she said got to me. I know it's stupid. And I should have just gone to you" she lowered her eyes trying to avoid looking at him. She felt so embarrassed and stupid for believing Faye "is it too late to still go?" She asked  she didn't even care about changing her clothes or anything. She just wanted to spend time with him. Even if she did that in an old hoodie and a pair of jeans

Louis smiled.

"Of course it's not," He said, taking her hand into his.

He knew that he would have to talk to Faye and try to understand more of why she seemed to be picking on Carina. Sometimes she did that to people, but it was always very short-lived.

Carina smiled when he took her hand and stood on her tip toes and kissed the tip of his nose "let's go then" she said with a small giggle
