curiosity ((open))

For once, Lazar was going to be a bad boy by making the dangerous journey to the Forbidden Forest! He needed to see for himself if the rumors were true! It was imperative to finally know why it was forbidden for reference, research purposes, etc. He was going to be close to breaking curfew doing it too! Of course, he would use his wand as a light to find a path. Why would he go there with the only light coming from the moon and stars? Hearing the wind blow through the trees, he felt a chill run through his body. Why didn't he wear a light jacket? He was going to freeze once he was done this task!

Was that the tree? Lazar tiptoed towards it trying to keep his eyes and ears out for any pesky bugs or beasts. He didn't want to get harmed after all! "Juh-jackpot!" It was the tree! Sticking his hand through the hole, he began feeling for glossy paper.

Chase was out walking Lycan when she heard something behind some trees. She looked at her wolf before deciding to investigate. She stepped through the trees until she saw a guy reaching into a tree. She leaned against a different ree behind her and cleared her throat, "Watcha looking for?"

Lazar didn't expect to hear another voice within the forest. It better not be a prefect! He heard his heart race as he hurried to try and pull out whatever was in the tree. Was it the wrong tree..? There was still the bushes to check!

"Oh, I-I'm trying to fuh-find some books, yeah. Just books. Plain, regular buh-books."

He tried to get a closer glimpse of the girl from where he stood.

"Why would there be books in a tree in the middle of the forest? Are you lying to me? You know, it's not polite to lie. Especially to people you don't even know." She asked stepping closer. The moonlight washed over her so she was easier to see, as was her giant friend next to her, "What are you really doing out here?" She asked, stepping closer to him.

"Suh-sometimes p-puh-people lose their books..." Before he knew it, his whole body drenched from nervousness. This was intimidating! A very pretty girl was calling him out on a little white lie! Why did he try to lie?! It never did him any good!

"Fuh-finding magazines ah-actually..."

Lazar kept it vague.

Chase pulled a magazine out of her jacket and held it up, "You mean this magazine? Yeah I found it in the bushes over there. I was gonna use it for fire kindling. But I guess if you were looking for it." She said, tossing him the wizard version of playboy, "You can have it." She reached down and scratched Lycan behind the ear, still looking at the boy, "You got a name, Playboy?"

His cheeks flushed a bright red as he tried to suppress his nerves with a laugh. Was that a..? Lazar couldn't believe just how full the world was of pretty girls. It was like there was one in every corner at Hogwarts!

For once, he managed to catch the magazine! Lazar glanced down at it with his jaw open. Then, he began getting worried about bugs and promptly shut it. Playboy?! Was he that much of a catch?! "I-I'm Lazar..." Wow, she was gorgeous....

Chase smiles at him and moved her hair from her face, "I'm Chase. And this handsome fella is Lycan." She said patting the wolf's head, "It's getting pretty dark out. You're not scared of the big bad wolf?" She said with a laugh. She wasn't scared particularly because she had Lycan with her at all times.

She had a wolf with her?! Did Hogwarts allow wolves as pets? Lazar knew the rules had relaxed considerably since his parents attended, but a wolf seemed too much!

"I-I didn't kn-know you had one..."

"He's trained. So he won't hurt anyone unless they threaten me. I got special permission to have him since he's certified." She said explaining how she was able to have Lycan on the grounds with her, "Don't worry. He won't hurt you." She looked up at the sky as it grew darker, "Should we maybe head back? Or did you wanna have some alone time with your magazine?"

Trained? Whew, that was a relief! Lazar was grateful to know that the wolf didn't just run around all willy nilly; what if it mauled some poor kid on the way to class? What if the poor kid was him?! He cautiously raised his hand toward the wolf to figure out if it wanted to be pet. "I-I don't know. I-I was afraid you were a pre-prefect. I'm not usually a rule breaker..."

Chase looked down at Lycan and nodded. The wolf then leaned his head into lazars palm to allow him to pet him, "Good boy." She said mostly to Lycan. "Well I'm not a prefect, that's for sure. And you don't seem the type to be a rule breaker. I'm just not entirely sure how to get back. I'm still kinda new here."

That was a well-behaved wolf! The Veela charm was slowly overtaking him. Of course, that wasn't hard to manage as he already dealt with it whenever any girl at school, save for Thalia, gave him the slightest bit of attention. "I-I can help you back... I've been using my wand to light a path...." Lazar was willing to do anything for her.

"You would do that?" She said in a sweet voice, "That's really clever of you. You must be a Ravenclaw with brains like that." She said as she picked up her bag from beside her and threw it over her shoulder, "Lead the way."

Lazar nodded enthusiastically as he made his wand emit a bright light. He then finally stuck his arm out of the tree. Hopefully it was free of sap! That'd be gross to be covered in! "I-I am a Ravenclaw!" Oh, how good it felt to be praised! Now he had to show her that he's a man.

He pointed his wand out into the distance. "Y-you can hold on. If you want."

Chase smiles and laughed, "Of course you are." When he lot his wand, it made it bright around them, so she could see the slightest bit better. She placed a hand into his arm as they began walking, "I hope we don't get in trouble for being in late." She made sure Lycan was at her side. He was, per usual.

A girl (!!!!!) was touching his ARM. He really was a man now! His face got redder just thinking about it. The new girl at school was the damsel in distress, and Lazar was able to be her fairytale prince. This was something he'd have to tell Thalia about later!

"If we do, I-I'll just tell them y-you got lost. Since you're new and I-I'm a good student, we'd only get warnings!"

Of course, that would depend slightly on which prefect they'd encounter. He began walking away from the stash of magazines towards the path in front of them.

Chase followed his lead, "There's another smart idea from the Ravenclaw. You must be just full of them." She continued to walk until she saw the lights if the castle through the woods, "There's the castle. Let's hope we don't run into anyone who will give us any issues." She said, emerging from the trees.

"Y-yeah, I am!" He'd usually ask if she really thought so, but the veela charm was making him feel more confident. A man wouldn't question his talents, and he was a man! Wow, that was easier than he realized. All thanks to his very smart brain and his very bright wand! Lazar looked over at Chase with his mouth upturned to his cheeks; he was on top of the world. "If-if they do. I'll tell them to back off!"

Chase let go of his arm as they approached the trail back to the castle and out Lycan in his leash. She had to have him on leash when actually on the grounds of the castle. "You are incredibly brave, Lazar. Thank you for getting us home safe. Maybe I'll see you around sometime." She said, as she walked the trail.

His eyes sparkled upon being told that he was brave. It was official: he was one step closer to becoming a man, and MacKenna was going to learn that he can't be messed with! 'Y-yeah, you're welcome!"

Lazar felt as if he was dreaming, but this wasn't a dream. Finally he had something to brag about when it came to girls!

Not wanting to seem weird, he waited for her to go further before he made his way back to the Ravenclaw common room.
