personal cathedrals ((azazel))

James saw the coldness of his breath as he sighed heavily. It was slowly nearing a year since the dreaded Hogsmeade attack. Although many have done their best to move on from it as justice was brought many moons ago, he still felt a pit in his stomach whenever he had ventured out to Hogsmeade.

Sitting at a bench, James tried to minimize the fact he was there. Although he was innocent, he still couldn't help but feel as if it was all his fault. He still was confounded by Niall and Azazel forgiving him. He felt as if he didn't deserve their forgiveness.  He stared down at his gloved hands as he got lost in his thoughts.

Azazel sighed as he moved through the streets of Hogsmede, he did not know what was going on any more. James was so distant lately and he honestly just wanted to have known what was going on he knew that the other didn't think he deserved his forgiveness yet he knew James wasn't his self when he was attacked and sent to St Mungos, when he was trying to break through to him.

Rounding a corner, he happened to see the young man of his thoughts sitting on a bench. There was nothing else he wanted to do but sit next to him, yet he was not sure if he would be welcomed if he just sat down. Yet he could not just walk by so he approached him though stopped a few feet away to settle his thoughts before making his presence known. "Hi.."

He looked up and saw Azazel. It always ended up being like this for him; the moment he thinks of somebody dear to his heart, they show up. What was he, some kind of low tier seer?

"Hi." James' voice was low and muffled almost as if he was trying to avoid conversation. He couldn't be rude though. Although he was technically with Niall, he still yearned for Azazel. His first, real love. "What are you doing here?"

To his credit, a crowd hadn't formed yet, so his attempt at being inaudible seemed to be working out.

Azazel gave James a smile when he acknowledged him and moved to sit beside him. "I was just out walking around, trying to figure somethings out," He replied quietly as he could tell that James did not really want their conversation to be public, frankly he did not either.

"Want to go somewhere more private so we can talk a little more freely?" Azazel suggested he just wanted to talk and get to know where the other's head was at currently as they had not talked about their relationship in awhile. He also knew that James had been with someone else but they had agreed to see other people for the time since they did not know where they stood. Plus it did not help that he was still caught between wanting his own free will and being under control of his master who was killed in the battle. The battle where he was injured by the only person he really loved and cared about, that did not matter now he just wanted to make sure James was okay as seeing him at Hogwarts he could tell that he was wrestling with something.

"Figure what out?" Was Hogsmeade ever really the place to figure something out? Sure, it was more quaint and peaceful than Diagon Alley, but this would be one of the last places James would go if he needed to really think about something. He wasn't one to do it where everyone could scrutinize him.

James look at Azazel and then back down at his lap. "Sure, I guess it wouldn't hurt." Whether he'd end up regretting it was to be determined. It'd be better than to continue moping on the bench.

Azazel sighed as he looked at James again, before standing up and offering his hand to the other. He honestly just wanted his touch again, the last time they talked it went okay but he felt that the other was holding back. Granted everything that James had gone through in the last few months.

"How about Elixer?" He suggested thinking that it could be easier to talk over a warm drink.

James hesitated to touch Azazel's hand, even if it was to help him get off the bench. He was technically dating Niall, who he had cheated on Aazazel with, but he knew fairly well how deep it was when it came to Azazel. It was easy to be away from his actual boyfriend for a time without worry, yet it would be Azazel that made an appearance in his dreams.

"Sure." It would just be some coffee. Relax. Obviously he's showing care and concern. Not like James wasn't receiving enough of it for the past nine-ish months to begin with. He reached to Azazel with the tip of his fingers. Merlin, he felt so confused.
