Another day (Mackenzie)

Lakelyn had spent the last twenty minutes in the kitchens chatting away with the house elves. She had come to be friendly enough with the little beings over the time she had been attending Hogwarts. When she had finally left them to their work, they had thrusted a plate of freshly baked cookies into her hands. One of the perks of being friendly with the house elves. She thanked them and then took the cookies with her back to the common room.

She knew that she should probably be doing her transfiguration homework that she had been putting off but instead she took her Care of Magical Creatures notes out of her bag after she had sat on one of the big comfy couches. COMC was one of her favorite classes. She looked over the notes that were decorated with realistic doodles of the creatures in the margins as she took one of the cookies from the plate and bit into it.
