best friends forever ((cherry))

Hazel couldn't believe the final year had come and here she was sittting in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom where everyone came just to get a glimpse of Myrtle. She had been wanting to do some exploring before she resumed her studies for this year and trying her best this year. She had been hoping to spend as much time with Cherry as she could this year right now.

She waited outside the bathroom for her best friend to come.

As soon as she could, Cherry changed out of her uniform and into more comfortable clothing; since Hazel mentioned exploring the school, she wanted to make sure she was appropriately dressed. She seldomly put herself in potentially dangerous predicaments, at least ones that involved the castle, so this was going to be a new experience for her. She ran down the corridor until she spotted her best friend. "Hey, Haze! What are we exploring?"

Hazel goal was to spend her final year with her best friend and it was going to be epic. She had smiled when she heard Cherry's voice. She couldn't get through half of the things without Cherry, and was forever thankful for her through all they been through. "We are going to explore Moaning Myrtle's bathroom." 


"We are going to make a point to make our mark this year."

Nodding, she grimaced as a concern immediately occurred to her. "Haze, we both know a lot about the bathroom. What is there for us to explore..?" Cherry was genuinely wondering; they both knew neither of them were parselmouths. There was no way for them get down into the Chamber of Secrets nor would anyone want them to.

Hazel thought about what Cherry said for a few seconds, than an idea came, "What if we attempt to open the Chamber of Secrets and explore. It's a dead ruin now." she said with a smirk. She wanted to make the most of this final year, "Or we could explore all the secret passageways." 

She knew Alayna would more than likely say something. "Plus we could get Louis on our side"

"We don't know parseltongue, Haze... That's why we don't have anything to explore in there..."

Oh, Hazel! Cherry adored her so much, but sometimes she simply didn't think things through. But what kind of Gryffindor would she be if she didn't act before thinking on occasion?

She hummed, thinking carefully before she replied, "I think secret passageways would work better. I just wouldn't know where to start on finding them all! They're almost never marked or noted in the Hogwarts maps or history books!"

Hazel didn’t exactly think this one through and she stood there with a bit of silence. “You bring up a good point. Why does the coolest thing at school need to be hidden?” she asked. Like at one point she understood since the basilisk was deadly but it’s been dead for almost twenty years.

She had looked at Cherry, “Do you think there is another basilisk?” she asked. She hadn’t been entirely sure of it.

Hazel had been standing and thinking for a few seconds. “We could start with the one eyed passageway.”

Shaking her head, she wasn't sure if she liked the idea of going down there. "I don't think the location of a creature used to kill muggleborns is that cool..." Since her best friend wasn't a supremacist type, Cherry figured she might be receptive to her concerns about exploring the chamber. "And if there is another basilisk, I don't wanna encounter one..."

"What's the one-eyed passage again?"

Hazel had known her idea was probably not the most sensitive to Cherry, but at times she would get caught in her own little world right now. "I am sorry, I was bit insensitive." But she loved Cherry very dear and would do anything for her best friend. 


"Do you really think they'd let another basilisk in this school?" she said, but then she thought their Headmaster was Riddle, so nothing was impossible. "I forgot who our headmaster is."


She looked at Hazel, "It's the passageway that leads to Honeydukes."

"I hope Headmaster Riddle wouldn't let another basilisk into the school. You don't think he'd risk his position like that, do you?" She glanced over at her best friend nervously.

Cherry didn't want to worry over hypothetical situations! It was stressful enough fretting over Hazel, Hazel's siblings, and the rest of her friends.

"Oh!" She nodded, completely understanding which passageway Hazel went. "I hope neither of us find out we're claustrophobic while we're going through it..."

Hazel liked to think Headmaster Riddle would have a sense of some respect for the school. Then again he let someone began Head Girl, when everyone knows she isn't capable of it. "I'd like to think not, but that family is weird, and Mackenzie I don't trust that girl as far as you can throw her. He let someone like Alayna be head girl." she with a sigh. Even if Asher was fucking Alayna, Hazel didn't like her.

"It's a passageway, what's really going to happen?" she looked at Cherry with eyebrow raised.

"I wouldn't judge Alayna like that. Her brother's in my house, and he's always been really sweet. He seems like a shell of himself after attending that school he was sent to..."

Cherry didn't want to make assumptions about what was going on there either, so she just hoped Hazel wouldn't scrutinize Alayna as much. She was the maternal friend; she cared about everyone, and she didn't want to jump to conclusions when possible. If she had issues with someone, she just tried to avoid them. Like the Burkes. It was impossible to avoid Hector completely when they had classes together. That family was always louder with views on muggleborn...

Forming a narrow passageway with her hands, she replied, "Um, it's underground, right? I heard it gets tight under there..."

Hazel knew that she needed to get over her anger for Alayna, but it was five years of pent up anger, that she always did her best to get over, but it was hard. "I know the fact she is dating my brother is also something that is crazy." she said, but she didn't expect them to spend the rest of their life together. They were puppy love, but Asher was in love with Alayna, or at least with what she was offering him.

"What school was Atticus sent too?" she asked with curiosity. She didn't know more about that duty, but she knew the Nott family were strong supporters of the dark arts. "Atticus has always been nice, but it's none of our business why he had been sent to that school at the end of the day."

She did hear it was tight, "We will manage, but it will be worth it."

"She's dating your brother..? Which one?"

Oh boy. Well, that certainly explained Hazel's distaste. Cherry exhaled with a shrug. "I don't know which school, but I know Macmillan said it was authoritarian... No wonder why he seems so afraid!" She decided she was going to wait until Atticus was re-acclimated with Hogwarts again to see how he was doing. Cherry didn't think he was in the most social of moods...

"At least we can use our magic if it comes down to it..."

Hazel knew she had to be supportive of Asher and Alayna. Although she was trying her best to respect her being her boss and she was doing all that she could do. “She is dating Asher, remember he's the only one with purist views who are in Hogwarts.” she commented with a bit of a shrug.

There was a positive in the grounds. “We are skilled duelists.”

She had started to set out and they were going to find their way into the one eyed statue.
