Find something safe to do (open)

Mackenzie was stretched across the bench of seats in a compartment she had managed to snag getting there before most of the others. Plus, most others didn't try to bother her as they were frightened of her. With good reason of course. She had a book open above her head, using magic to float it in place and turn the pages. She didn't care about the damn no magic rule of the express. What would they do? Tell her daddy on her. She laughed at the thought of Lochlan actually punishing her.

Comarth had been watching her, silently, for a while now. She was stretched out across several seats, without a care in the world, and lazily flicking through a book suspended mid-air. He was hanging back, outside the door to her compartment, like a creepy little peeping Tom. His lank, slightly greasy hair was dangling over his large, insect-like eyes.

There was a slight gap in the window to her compartment, which he loudly announced himself:

"Are you reading a dirty book?"

Mackenzie lazily rolled over onto her stomach to see who was at the door and groaned at the sight of Selwyn. He was always such a creep. Always watching her, "Why am I not surprised you are here, Shadow?" She said, calling him by the nickname she had deemed him a few years back. As he was always lurking around somewhere.

He watched her, still remaining in position. He still hadn't entered the compartment. There were energetic first- and second-years rushing past, sometimes clashing with his shoulder, but he didn't pay any attention to them. He kept his eyes solidly on hers.

"You didn't answer my question."

His response was quick, breathy. He clutched to the side of the door, peering at her through the slit in the glass.

"Answer my question."

Mackenzies eyes narrowed as her dark fringe fell in her crystal blue eyes, "What if it is? Does that get you all hot and bothered? Knowing little Mackenzie riddle is reading a book about sexual endeavors?" She asked, looking at him and locking her eyes with his and giving him a little smirk

"That isn't an answer," he pointed out.

He narrowed his eyes, and leant his cheek on his hand, which was propped up on the door frame.

Insinuations, innuendo, social constructs of flirting, or teasing, were not something he recognised. In his mind, he had a question that needed a direct answer.

"Are you reading a book of sexual endeavours?" he asked, reflecting how she referred to them, "Or aren't you?"

Mackenzie laughed and shook her head, "No. It's a book on offensive spells and hexes I stole from my dad's library." The book would definitely be put in the restricted section of Hogwarts library. But her dad had a whole bunch of them and no one else needed to know it was full of dark magic. Especially since the tomb was blood bound, only a Riddle could open it.
