Strumming his guitar, James glanced around the corridor before throwing a stink bomb in the direction of the prefects carriage. When he found out his cousin Louis was named Head Boy for the term, he knew he needed to give his cousin a good, well-earned welcome. He knew it was going to piss off certain prefects and likely land him his first detention of the year. Was it going to be worth it though? Absolutely. A part of him was wondering if Louis might be able to knock that potential detention into a simple warning. Who said he couldn't exploit his cousin's wider powers as Head Boy?

He stood still as he waited to hear or see any sign of a reaction from where the prefects were congregating.

Alayna shook her head at what he said about flying being natural, "a there is nothing natural about your feet not being on the ground." She listened as he played a few chords and found herself smiling a bit. He was rather good; not great, but not horrible. She laughed a bit and nodded, "I recall. Slytherin gave you lions a right beating if I remember correctly."

"Yeah, I think so. It wasn't my finest moment," James chuckled as he continued to play the same few chords until it occurred to him that he needed to tune his guitar. He continued to talk as he adjusted the knobs. "I wanted to try something different, y'know?"

Alayna leaned against the all, watching him as he fiddled with the instrument, "Yeah. I know what you mean." She thought of how lucky he was to have a family where he could venture and try new things. She sighed a bit, mostly to herself. She was lucky she had Atticus at least. She was glad her brother was back in London and back at Hogwarts. She would have to make a note to find him after the feast. "Anywho. I have to go tend to my duties. No more stink bombs." She said with a quick nod and made her way to the prefects cabin.

"Yeah, I'll just make sure to not do 'em around ya!" he called out as he watched her go to the prefect's cabin. James began heading in the other direction to find out who he might come across along the way; it would be boring to just sit in a compartment the entire train ride.
