First Annual Music Night ((Open to ALL))

This was it. This was really happening. His first year as a professor, he managed to orchestrate an entire student function with the help of Camille and the encouragement of Skylar. Skylar was the awesomest dudette he'd ever met, and he didn't know if he could've pulled this off without her.

There was extraordinary feedback to his crystal messages surrounding the night although many of them ended up being last minute; that kind of response was heartening and hype generating. If this went well enough, it could easily become an annual event! That'd be epic! Professor Reed Jackson making waves at the bottom of the professor totem pole. Hell yeah!

The gym was done up to have a makeshift stage with the audience being rows of chairs and the bleachers. Reed could tell that his superiors were doing their best to ensure that the investment into the gym wasn't a complete waste as it seemed like they were hosting nearly everything in it as of late.

Reed dressed himself like a beatnik critic by wearing a black jumper, black slacks, and a pair of sunglasses. He had to look cool. Stepping up to the stage, he tapped the microphone. "Test. 1. 2. 3. Test."

Satisfied, he nodded and waved at everyone in the gymnasium nervously. Time to be the great speech maker or whatever.

"Um, hey, dudes, dudettes, and everyone else! If you don't already know me, I'm Professor Reed Jackson, and I teach the music classes." Chuckling, he scratched his neck. "Welcome to our first ever music night at Hogwarts! Many of your friends, enemies, schoolmates, yeah, have all come up with songs specifically to entertain you TONIGHT. Before we get to them, I wanna thank a few people first. Thanks to Cam- Professor Voclain for letting us have this sort of function and being involved all the way to make sure it happens.” He motioned to the glitter glue craft decorations of musical notes and instruments on the walls. "Thanks to everyone that's come out tonight whether you're just performing or watching. Coming here instead of staying in your dorm automatically makes you AWESOME! Stay being awesome! And last but not least, Healer Ashton, as this would not be happening if it wasn't for her…"

He tried to find her in the audience.

"Without further ado, we have a garage rock band that formed for this event known as the Batty Bloodhounds. LET'S ROCK!"

Upset at what Albus was saying about him, James ran down into the changing rooms to hide. Fucking hell, Christmas was going to be a pain.

Albus shook his head in disappointment, “Run away like you always do!” he shouted.

Mackenzie looked at Albus with a frown on her face, "You don't bloody listen. I just said this isn't the or place for such a thing to happen. And you go on anyway." She shook her head and walked away from him.

Archer liked drama and right now he saw another quarrel arising. He spotted Mackenzie with a smirk, “Why hello, beautiful.” he said with a glare, “I hear you’re performing tonight.”

Hazel was proud of her sister for performing. She couldn’t believe she had the confidence, and when a quarrel started Hazel rolled her eyes. She’d definitely take points away. “Do we got a problem?” she said to the group.

Lily was disappointed in albus embarrassing display of anger towards James. She watched as James ran out and tried to stop him but he was gone. She frowned and glared at James before going to the stage. "Hi everyone. I'm lily. So, this song goes out to my brother James."

Lien had gone to get some drinks after hearing Alayna's caterwauling, returned, and James was no where to be seen. He'd heard someone shouting something but hadn't really listened. Perhaps he had just gone to get ready. Lien sipped his drink.

Mackenzie smirked when archer stopped her, "Looks like you heard right. I dont recall seeing your name on the list." Then hazel Cartwright came over and she rolled her eyes, "Now that youre here. Yes, I have a problem."

Why did Albus hate him so much? Did he really fuck up that much? James needed to collect himself before he would eventually go on stage, sing, and probably get the hell out of Hogwarts right after. He hoped Albus wasn't going to give Lien any trouble...

Hazel crossed her arms at Mackenzie. “I’m not here to cause problems, but what just happened is going to cost Slytherin 5 points and you’re lucky I’m not taking points for ruining my sisters performance.” she said giving them a glare. “I am not the enemy, Mackenzie. I don’t hate you, but if you want to more of a bitch I’ll take more points away.” she said giving Mackenzie a dark glare. “I am done letting you walk all over people,”

Standing around, she looked around for potential prey. Unfortunately, Discodia lacked any instruments to fix them with...

"Call him out, Albus!" Marilyn yelled out after the spat had ended.

Gabby stood around in the outfit that Mats had picked out for her… it was much more revealing than she was used to but she didn’t want to hurt her sister’s feelings so she had worn it. She looked around for Ethan, they were supposed to be performing together. That was probably the only reason she hadn’t tried a little harder to get out of this all together. She was pretty sure that even signing up was a bad idea but it was too late now! She just had to find Ethan and make sure he was ready.

Reed was delighted about how many students were eager to perform even though the songs so far got extremely personal. He stood near the stage and clapped.

Lien was starting to feel worried. There was a real atmosphere in here...

He splashed his face with some cold water from a sink and dried it off. James reemerged from the changing room and immediately went to look for Lien. Although the lighting made it slightly difficult, he had an easier time finding him than he expected.

"Hey," James said breathlessly before giving him a kiss on the cheek. "I'm gonna perform soon. After I perform, we're leaving. I can't stand being in here much longer..."

Lochlan wouldn't miss his two girls performing in the music night. He'd already seen Mackenzie in the audience, and now he had spotted Gabriella. He smiled at them from his position around the backstage, thinking how they were beginning to look like very mature, young ladies now. Where had the time gone?

Camille was so pleased with how the night was going so far! She looked over at Lochlan and smiled widely. "We have so many talented students here!"

"Hi..."

He looked like he was really upset about something. He knew it. He was starting to catch his wind of what Albus had done, going by the general murmur around the place. What kind of a brother did that? And to be able to hurt James far more than Alayna did? To have him running a off like that?

Lien touched his hand gently, sliding his fingers around his.

"Are you sure you want to perform? We could just leave now, if that's what you want."

He wasn't stupid enough to start hexing Albus right here, right now.

"Reed's expecting me to perform 'cause I signed up weeks ago, y'know..."

They should've just left a long time ago.

James intertwined their hands together. "I'll sing, then we leave. I-I don't want Albus to use it against me..."

He thought far too much about the comments he, Alayna, Ptolemy, and others made to the point of putting it into song just so they could finally escape his mind.

At the conclusion of Lily's song, James went to find the Frog Choir member to get her on stage with him. He might as well get this over with so he and Lien could leave as quickly as possible.



The light at the end of the tunnel was at his reach.

James's song was pretty good too. He wasn't really watching it though. It felt awkward to give him his undivided attention, so he went to find Alayna instead to congratulate her.

"Well done, Alayna. You were amazing!"

After hearing all the acts, he clapped politely until he heard Albus Potter's outburst. Hazel Cartwright seemed to be handling it. But he supposed, if this was all true, James Potter would be leaving soon.

He watched him perform. It was funny... thinking of him no longer being around didn't make him feel as good as he thought it would. He thought it was a bit unfair that he felt pressured to actually leave school...

He cheered for James loudly, whistling. He was pretty good after all!

Louis was awkwardly caught between watching James, consoling Albus and going to Hazel. He was worried about how everyone was feeling. Still, he thought the best he could do was cheer for James. It sounded as though he had worked hard on the song.

Mackenzie smirked at Hazel, "Good for you. Taking of points. Such a wound. Now if youll excuse me. I have to go perform." She had worked really hard on her song and it had gotten the girls approval of totally kicking ass. She stood on the stage and found her father in the crowd. She smiled at him as her music began and she started to sing 

Willow was excited about this show more than she was letting on. She spent days practicing and had the perfect song in mind, and today she was ready to perform it. Dressed in a pretty grunge outfit, Willow got her guitar and began playing it, and she let out a smile. "I dedicate this song to my sister Malia." she smiled. This was one of her favorite songs of all time, and she was ready to perform this song, and she knew Malia was next, and a little nervous about what she planned on performing.
