Niamh liked to practice her dueling on the various dummies in the chamber. It was against school rules to practice on her fellow classmates, and it sucked since Niamh felt like a lot of them could really an unexpected hex to knock some sense into them right now. It was a shame really, and one of the many reasons she didn’t care much more for Hogwarts.

She had been practicing various spells on some of the dummies. The girl had been quite adept for her year, and actually took her position seriously. This was a way for her to let her frustrations out, and at the sound of footsteps. Niamh turned and shouted a harmless spell, “Expellarmius” to let them know she was practicing. She didn’t want an unexpected attacker.

“What do you want?” she called out.

Blake was walking down the hall when he heard spells being shouted. Thinking there was a fight going on, he rushed into the room to observe. When he saw it was a single girl practicing her spells, he was a bit upset. He had really wanted to see a fight, "Thought there was a fight going on. I wanted a good view."

Niamh hated to break the balls of her onlooker, but the only fight going on was one where she had been dueling various dummies to make up for not being able to hex others. She wasn’t cruel, she just hated the whole sense of entitlement of this school that seemed to be here. “No there isn’t. I’m more like practicing, so I win any duel I’m put in.” she spoke with a glare, as she pointed her wand at a dummy, and shouted, “Incendio!” setting the dummy on fire, only to put it out with a simple water charm that stopped the flames, and she shouted. “Stupefy!” and the dummy went flying, and landed on the ground completely motionless and paralyzed. “I like to be the best.”

It was what she had over the stupid establishment.

Blake observed her and smirked a bit, "I see. You're quite gifted with that wand of yours." He said chuckling to himself. It could be made dirty in her mind if that's what she wished. He watched as she continued to fire spells att the dummy. She was definitely one chick he wouldn't want to have to duel, "The best, huh? Well does the best have a name?"

Niamh liked being a bit of a mystery in the moment, because she knew she was quite the duelist. “I know I am, and it’s why I take dueling very seriously.” she said as she showed off another spell. When asked her name, Niamh smiled. “I’m Niamh, and I believe we are in the same house.” she said giving him a familiar look. “I’m also the President of the Dueling Club.” she spoke with a confident smile.

"I can tell. Maybe a bit too serious at times. Why don't you take a quick water break and come sit and talk with me?" He asked with a smile that made most girls melt. The way his dimples formed and he had one tooth that was just a tiny bit crooked. "Niamh. Nice to meet ya. I'm Blake. I'm new here, so yeah. I'm a Gryffindor. So if that's what you are then yeah, were in the same house."

Niamh didn’t like taking breaks, but she supposed one didn’t hurt while Blake had come to talk to her. “Well it’s the one thing that I actually take pride in, and I’d like not to neglect that.” she said giving him a bit of a smile. His smile was not all that charming, but Niamh was a good person. Things made sense once she figured out that Blake had been new, “Well since you are new I would like to start off by saying that I’m not one for school pride”. she commented. She hated this school with a passion. “Where did you come from?” she said curious.
