Right as rum (Fred)

Mystique had a night to herself as Athena was at a sleepover party at a friend's house. She decided to stay at Hogwarts for the evening and just have some time to herself. But that soon became boring. So now she was walking to the groundskeeper cabin with a bottle of whiskey in her hand. She had been saving the bottle for a while now. She knocked on Fred's door and waited for him to answer.

"Yeah, yeah, 'ang on a minute Ted."

He swung open the door and stood there, in front of the librarian, merely wearing his underpants and a robe. The robe wasn't fastened, either. For some reason his reaction was to slam the door shut again.

Okay - just relax. It's not Teddy, it's a women... and now she's seen you in your rubber duck underpants. This is fine...

Well, it wasn't fine, but he had to make the best out of a tough situation. Sometimes it was best just to laugh it off, so he did: shakily, unconvincingly. He struggled into a pair of jeans, pulled over a t-shirt and opened the door again breathlessly. "Sorry 'bout that! Take two."

He grinned at her nonchalantly.

Mystique was about to say hello when the slammed the door back shut in her face. She blinked a few times, confused, before he reopened the door. She smiled at him, moving her hair a bit, "What? I'm not worthy enough of seeing the ducky underpants?" She said, teasing him. She thought it was kinda cute, "Were you expecting someone else?"

"Er..."

He laughed nervously, blushing.

"Was expectin' a mate, but it don't matter. Come in," he said, stepping back. The place wasn't the tidiest, and he had to whip a few magazines out of sight, but it was good enough.

"So, er... what can I do for ya?"

"Ah, well if your mate shows up I'll make myself scarce. I wouldn't want to disrupt boys night." She stepped inside and looked around. It was a bit messy but she didn't really care that much. It wasn't her house. She held up the bottle and smiled at him, "You can go get two glasses and take some shots with me?"

"Ah nah, s'only Ted... he won't mind..."

Actually, Teddy would mind. He'd remind him of the bros before hoes code, or else try to whip them both away on some heavy drinking excursion that would definitely end up with Mystique fancying Teddy. That's what normally happened.

This was an opportunity: just the two of them, drinks, close encounters, no responsibilities for the evening...

"Yeah! Let's do this!" He got out a couple of mismatching glasses from the cupboard. "Sorry. I only got pint glasses. I don't normally do shots unless it's at a bar." He grinned at her. "So what's the occasion? Did ya get a pay rise?"

"Ted? Who's Ted?" She didn't know of any staff members with that nickname. When he agreed To drink with her she smiled at him, "Yay!" She threw her arms around his neck and giggled. She may or may not have had a few shots before she made her way down there. "Well, If you want to drink pints of whiskey, I'll still drink ya under the table." She gave him a cheeky smile and shrugged, "I just want to drink tonight and it's no fun doing it alone."

"Ted's Teddy - Teddy Lupin."

When she threw her arms around him, Fred blushed. He didn't know what to do with his hands, and she smelt really good. Once she'd detached herself again like it was nothing, he was smiling sheepishly.

"Ah sweet! Uh, glad ya thought of me!"

Was this really happening? Hah.

"As if ya could sink pints of the stuff! Let's just stick to a bit at a time, yeah? I might be a bit chubby, but my stomach ain't that resilient."

"Oh ok then." She had no idea who that was besides what she had read in history books and such of Remus lupin and his wife who died in the war. She had never personally met him. "Of course I'd think of you. You're my drinking buddy." She raised an eyebrow at him, "You don't know half the things I can do. And you're not chubby. You have a dad bod, it's sexy." She poured them two shots and take hers, "Cheers." She downed the shot and made a quick face, "Woo."

"A Dad bod?" he repeated, flabbergasted. But he wasn't a Dad. He was twenty years old... with a Dad bod, great. Then again, she had said it was sexy.

Was this all really happening? Before he could really thinking about it, she had pushed a glass into his hands. He watched her, mesmerised, as she downed the shot fearlessly. Fred grinned and imitated her, cringing slightly from the strength of the drink at the end.

"Urghwa! It only gets easier from 'ere. C'mon, keep 'em comin'!"

"Yeah a dad bod." She repeated herself, as if that was all the explanation she needed. He took the shot and she poured two more, "So what happens when I out drink you again? Do I win a prize this time?" She asked with a smirk. She liked hanging out with Freddy. He was fun.

"Yeah - ya get a prize. You get to put me to bed, 'cause I'm gonna be knocked out."

He laughed.

Merlin she was pretty. It was only hitting him now that he had her all alone in his cabin, but the drink hadn't hit him enough yet not to get worked up about that fact. He was still rather tensed up and wasn't moving much other than to take another drink. He reminded himself that he had limbs that were capable of moving.

He sank down into a chair.

"So how'd a librarian get so good at drinkin'?"

Mystique blushed a bit, "Put you to bed. Yeah." She said before laughing and taking her shot and pouring another for both of them, "Well, I wasn't always the librarian type. I had a while few years here. Spent alot of the university years at the bar, still with great grades, might I add." She took the shot and shook her head, "One of those nights ended up with me getting my daughter 9 months later. So I can't complain to much."

"Ah, so ya had ya wild child years, then had to take care of Athena," he said, nodding as he poured out another shot. It was already beginning to hit him a little bit. The walls of his cabin were blurrier than usual. "I bet ya were a right rebel. Goin' around Hogsmeade and stealin' all the shop signs, then hangin' them up in the public toilets. Oh, wait, that was me..."

He grinned.

"Can see you flashin' the Ministry blokes gettin' their coffees at the Leaky Cauldron before work," he said, laughing. Then he realised what he'd said, and turned red. "Er - shit - I mean, I don't think ya'd do that! You ain't like that. I weren't sayin' you were a-- er..."

Shit. It was going so well. Or was it?

No, actually this was pretty much a disaster.

"Yes. I guess I did. Very wild indeed." She laughed at all the crazy scenarios he came up with. He was a riot. "Never in the stalls. Only above my bed. Made some of my dormmates jealous." When he said something about her flashing people, she raised an eyebrow. She smiled as he began stumbling over his words, "Does that excite m

you?" She asked, the alcohol definitely effecting her now,"The idea of me flashing some blokes? I bet you'd wanna be one of those blokes." She said with a laugh as she took another shot.
