the big announcement (rf, reactions, open, multi-char)

Professor Riddle approached the staff room, glancing about his shoulder to see if there was anyone lurking around inside the corridor. His hair was completely off: the intricate varying shades of greying blond were all a single tone, and his eyes were quite obviously blue despite their usual dark brown.

Out of all the Professors, Ptolemy was going to assume the appearance of one he actually had respect for.

No one was around there anyway, as far as he could tell. The morphing was just for precaution. Once he was inside the empty room, he went searching for the magical leyline that connected the loud speaker system around Hogwarts. It wasn't hard to find. He figured it would be in there.

Going inside the small office, he changed into Perdita. He needed a voice no one would recognise. And he had to do this quickly, or the Professors may catch him. Quickly, clearly, concisely.

"Good evening students of Hogwarts."

Good. Her voice was amplified and broadcasting all around the castle.  In the gymnasium where the students were, in the common rooms: from the north tower to the dungeons.

"There's really something you should all know that's been brought to my attention. It's about the son of The Chosen One, the one we all expected to be the golden child. Well, it can't come as a shock to you that he isn't. That's not what I want to talk about, though." Perdita paused, smirking. "I wanted to talk about how he's been lying to us all. I want to talk to you about how he isn't what he says he is, what he insists he is. All the poor girls he has strung along until now deserve to know the truth - that James Potter, is in fact, gay."

"That's right. He's gay. Always has been. If you thought he ever loved you? I can assure you, he didn't. He was just using you. What he really wants is your brother, your ex boyfriend... or your current one."

"Right now he's trying to steal Alayna's. He's completely smitten with Lien Chang - although he's quite clearly not into you, Jamesy. So why don't you stop ruining everyone else's happiness with your perpetual lies? We all know what you are now. Gay. Gay and very, very sad. Sad enough to try and bring us all down with you."

"Well. It's been nice to chat with you all, but it seems I must go now. Toodle pip."

There were sounds from the corridor outside the staff room. Perdita quickly stood up and turned back into Professor Riddle. Then he grinned to himself, very satisfied with what he accomplished. What a nice way to round off the evening.

Alayna was sitting in the common room when she heard the announcement. He actually did it? Shit. Shit shit shit. She was gonna hear it from Atticus.

Atticus was actually beginning to calm down and enjoy the dance with Lukas, until the music cut out. A voice rang through the gymnasium. When it was over, Atticus was frowning. That wasn't Alayna's voice, but he couldn't help but feel she may have had something to do with it. It seemed too much of a coincidence.

"So not cool," Atticus muttered, his frown deepening.

Louis was too shocked to say anything. He took out his crystal but just stared at it, not knowing what to say to his cousin. Where was he, anyway? He tried to find his sister, Lily, to see if she knew.

Lily pulled out her crystal when it vibrates, relieved to see it was Louis. She responded to him letting him know that she was in the Gryffindor common room with James.

"He probably just got back on the team to watch us all change."

Wade shuddered.

"Already knew that! He wasn't turned on by me, so it was obvious."

She snorted.

Faye felt uncomfortable hearing the announcement. She was still at the dance, standing with Narks. She looked at him, and seemed unable to say anything. It might be the juiciest gossip ever, but she still felt very bad for James.

Carina already knew that James way gay. But she was focused on the voice that announced the news. Why did it sound so familiar? She saw Atticus with his date and walked over to him, "Do you know where your sister is?"

"No. Makes you think, that, doesn't it?"

He sighed. He took Lukas's hand to reassure himself. This was all a rather big headache.

Layla gasped. "He'd been leading girls on?" she whispered, thinking very differently of him now.

As soon as this bitch started talking, Fred was already striding out the hall and towards the staff room, to try and put a stop to it. He bumped into another staff member as he did, though. "Come on, let's hurry."

Carina shook her head and sighed, "Makes me think she's acting without thinking things through again. She told me she wasn't going to do it because of you."

Lukas held onto Atticus hand and gave him a comforting smile, "I think your sisters gone a bit too far if this was her doing."

Lien's eyes cracked open marginally, and he eyed around the common room. Urgh. He was still feeling giddy, but wasn't feeling as sick as before. He'd had way too much to drink, and ended up passing out there. Alayna had probably gone back to her own common room.

He wasn't sure of the loud speaker and what it has said, but he swore he'd heard his name mentioned. What was going on? Was he dreaming or something?

"No. She really isn't thinking."

He smiled weakly at Lukas, standing close to him.

"Merlin, Alayna..." he said to himself, "What are you doing?"

Although he was originally in the music room following his excursion to the library, he ended up in the common room with Lily simply because everyone else was at the dance.

"That bitch!"

Grabbing one of the decorative pillows, he screamed into it.

He may have previously suspected it, but there was something extremely douchey about outing someone who clearly didn't want to be outed. Narkissos looked back at Faye and patted her on the shoulder. For once, he felt regretful about the speculations they made weeks ago. He only wanted to get Faye to give up on James!

Lukas looked down at Atticus with a frown on his face, "If you want to go look for your sister I'll understand. I'll go with you if you like?"

Lily looked at James in silence after the announcement, "James..." When he screamed into the pillow, her face became more determined, "I'm fighting that bitch."

Cherry glanced around the gym feeling uncomfortable.

"Is this against a law?"

Oh, James... Hermione was upset her nephew felt as if he couldn't be open about it to her. Did she do something wrong..? Then, she saw Fred run by, and she decided to join him.

"Automatic detention?"

Cernunnos was excited to have someone so handsome on the same team, but his conscience overruled.

"Why would you out him~? Not cool!"
