Where were you when the battle commenced on March 19, 2021? Aila had been in Hogsmeade when the battle started.
If you were in Hogsmeade, were you taken captive? No, Aila had been in a location that made it easy for her to quickly duck out of sight, frozen with fear she had stayed there while others were taken captive. She stayed in the refugee camp until it was safe to get back to the school. During the actual fight inside the school she did her best in helping in the potions dungeons and hospital wing, helping with her schooling up to that point to take care of minor wounds and help prepare potions. It was the only time she didn’t freeze up during the course of the events.
How were your friends and family affected by it? Aila’s parents weren’t directly involved but were worried sick during the entire thing. The second Aila was allowed to come home they picked her up from the station to take home immediately.

Aila’s friends managed to make it out alive, some with wounds and some with scars from being taken hostage, but all in tact and relatively okay.



Personality: Aila never really thought of herself as adventurous, or rule-breaking, she never tried to go out of her way to do anything for the greater good, or push others to do what she wanted. In fact, she never really took much stock in what others thought of her, often seen strolling around Hogwarts on the weekend in a bright yellow sundress to the library, or sitting on the lawns with a big sunhat and glasses to read with. Though a lot of time she spent in the greenhouses, learning about all the plants she could and how they affected people. She even went so far as to learn the muggle properties for them, learning how they interacted with muggle systems and how to make ‘potions’ that wouldn’t hurt a muggle in anyway. She was a learner, but never to the extent that she put it above all else.

She loved spending time in her common room, giggling with friends and talking about boys. Or strolling the castle just to see something new. She had friends in every house, though her closest were in her own. She was bright, bubbly, and rather charming when she wanted to be.

This didn’t mean she was perfect, when put into situations she wasn’t comfortable with, she often found herself clamming up, unable to focus or take control of the situation. She spent a lot of time making sure the situation wouldn’t go wrong, but when it did she tended to have difficulty dealing with the situation at hand. She could be impatient at times, a common quirk of hers being a light stomp of her foot when frustrated or upset. She was also prone to crossing her arms over her chest in irritation, confusion, or any slightly negative thought process, her inner thoughts always written clearly on her face and in her posture.


Likes: Evenings under the moon, herbology, curling up with a good book in front of the fire, fiddling with potions she probably shouldn’t, growing plants in her room, learning about healing.


Dislikes: The color purple, getting caught doing something she shouldn’t, attempting something hard and it not working out, the sound people’s shoes make when they don’t lift their feet up high enough, slimy fish


Goals: To own her own apothecary / potion shop.



History:  Aila grew up in a mixed household family. Her mother was a witch and her father was a muggle flower shop owner. Aila grew up in mixed wizard / muggle town of Ilkley, which helped her to learn everything of muggles and wizards before she was carted off to Hogwarts. She knew from a young age that she wanted to own a store of her own, helping provide both wizards and muggles with herbs and potions that would help cure their illnesses that modern medicine often overlooked or couldn’t cure. She knew magical potions wouldn’t cure muggles though and vowed to learn about both magical and non-magical plants and potions that could help everyone.

When she got to Hogwarts she was in awe of everything she saw. She’d heard all about it from her mother but it was a completely different thing to see it in person. While it took some time to get used to all the craziness that was school, by her 6th year she’d done well in the studies that most interested her, and… decent… in the ones that didn’t. She scraped by with marks that would help her get into the classes she wanted to be in at the level she wanted to learn them at.

Aila was in her 5th year during the attack on Hogwarts, this interrupted her studies but also gave her valuable experience. She found out so long as she could focus on helping others, she could ignore the panic inside of her, ignoring the immediate danger of getting hurt herself, she was able to push past her tendency to freeze in stressful situations and help where she was needed. It was valuable for her, but also left her far more wary of the world.
