Apex Batts
Lost Freedom, Newfound Freedom
Batts would be clinging to the ceiling, waiting, thinking, breathing. He would hold this, and ponder it as the guard was certain to ask again today. He was always the quieter behaved type, so naturally, they offered release every now and then. Batts had always rejected it, but as his little friends have whispered to him, he believes now is a good time to finally leave. To finally lose the freedom of the cell, and breathe into the grasp of the world. He felt it was time to go, the beckoning sounds saying this was his chance to do something. It'd be easy enough for him to end up back in here should he feel it is the more necessary road to take. However, whatever he found outside might just change his views, not likely, but there is happiness to be achieved out there.
"Apex Batts, have you made a decision?" The guard asked, having made it to his cell, the vampire had heard him, but was surprised by how quickly the time passed seeing as he was here now. He would smile, returning his feet to the ground, approaching the bars.
"Yes, I believe my time has come." He answered, and the guard nodded, opening the door, and letting him out. Batts would step towards the open door, and take a moment to analyze it, turning back to his cell room, before finally leaving its embrace. Breathing the air that felt almost foreign to him. He kept his hood down, giving a light glimpse of his glowing yellow eyes. He would follow the guard to where he would retrieve his things. The room well kept, and organized, some of those short workers scattering and fearfully fleeing at the sight of him, even under the escort of a guard. The guard seemed a bit on edge as well, not that Batts had the clearest sight of it, but he felt it in the heart beat. Soon, he was left with the one in charge of his release, a box of items, and a vial of blood.
"So, you are going free, finally, eh? Why'd you stay around so long?" She questioned, gesturing to the box, which Batts would open. Inside was his wand, rings, and artificial claws, which he would collect as he looked to the vial of blood, picking it up.
"I stayed for I felt the bad omens of the outer world. Now, I feel its beckoning, and I think I'm ready to face it." The vampire explained, tilting the vial a bit, seeing the cap. "So, what kind of blood is this? Pureblood? Muggle blood?"
"Hmm... You did always have some strange beliefs." She would nod, believing she couldn't understand his reasoning, no matter how she tried, perhaps he was just the deluded type. "As for that blood, it is Half-blood."
"Oh, my favorite type of blood for my release eh? Did you get it fresh?" He asked, popping the vial open to get a scent.
"Within the hour." She answered, looking to the side, and Batts would take the vial, pouring the contents into his mouth. He missed a couple drops, as he enjoyed the ecstasy it provided feeling the extra drizzle of blood around his mouth. "You missed with that, you fool."
"Nope, I just like the warmth it gives." He'd suggest, pulling his fingers across his cheeks towards his mouth, savoring the taste of a blood like his own as he licked his fingers clean. He would soon stop and bow. "Sorry for the inconvenient sight, and my gratitude for such understanding. I will not waste this opportunity you have provided."
"It is fine. However you feel it is necessary to ease your stress. I can only imagine how it must feel for someone like you to face the outside world again. I'd fear that." She explains, finding Batts to be the trustworthy type.
"I do not deny that anxiety of my very being, but I only hold myself back fearing my lost humanity. I exist how I must, and will make sure it can't be dangerous to others." Batts assured, knowing the other dangers to him as well, but he wouldn't falter. He couldn't if he hoped to find his happiness in the world before his likely return. All that was left was to take those steps to the exit, and liberate himself to pursue any final business in the wider world out there. Only then, may he truly be able to rest at ease. It was time to say goodbye to the place he knows as home now, and find something out there where bats roam free. The night sky shining down on his cloaked figure, he'd put his hood up, and step out, being accompanied by a small swarm of fluttery bats as the vampire slid his claws on. The moon the eye over him.
